Although it’s been years since Bruce passed away, his impact on Gwyneth’s life remains. The “Seven” star recently talked about how learning that her father had cancer pushed her down a different path during an appearance on “CBS Sunday Morning.”

Gwyneth’s call to shed light on aspects of her life came after host Jane Pauley asked when she became health conscious. After a chuckle, the “Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow” star replied:

“I’ll tell you exactly. When my father had cancer, and I was helping him one day, you know, feeding him with a syringe and a feeding tube. And I was surprised…’ what was in this can that I think injected directly into in his stomach?’ It was the first time I made the connection between food, health… I’ll never forget that moment.”

In fact, the moment was so effective that Gwyneth started researching and sharing what she learned until she ended up founding Goop — a weekly lifestyle newsletter that encourages readers to “nourish the inside.”

From there, the soon-to-be 50-year-old actress expanded to Goop.com — a web-based company that sells her beauty, lifestyle and skin care products. The actor later revealed that the company’s name was born after someone informed him that “successful internet companies have two O’s in their name.”

Another memorable event in Gwyneth’s life happened after Bruce’s funeral when she returned to London, where she lived at the time. According to PEOPLE, the actress revealed that her initial grief after her father’s death was “so physical” that she thought it would “break me.”

Recalling the incident after her return to London, the Golden Globe Award winner said, “I woke up in the middle of the night, and I thought I was having a heart attack. The only reason I didn’t call the emergency services was because I didn’t know that in England, you dialed 999; in America, it’s 911. To be honest, I thought I was dying. It was really hard.”

He added that there is no other way to deal with losing “the love of their life like that” than just trying to “process your grief and move on.” The “Shout” actor also said the one “upside” of Bruce “dying too young” is that he “had a lot of life to build on.”

Gwyneth has previously shown how much her father has inspired her in life, going as far as honoring his memory by marrying her husband — Brad Falchuck — near where they buried his ashes.

“Proof” Star Has Some Words of Wisdom For Kids From Famous Homes

We should be careful not to judge other moms Ciara and Gwyneth Paltrow talk about parenting ahead of Mother's Day in a new Coach interviewMEGA

In July, Paltrow expressed her opinion on the institution of nepotism. The Blast shared that the conversation happened when the “Deadly Relations” star appeared on an episode of Hailey Bieber’s YouTube series, “Who’s in my Bathroom?”

After noting that while having famous parents can give children more important opportunities, they often have to work twice as hard to prove themselves and keep those opportunities, Paltrow explained:

“Why, you might ask? Because people are ready to pull you down and say, ‘You don’t belong there or ‘You’re only there because of your father or mother.”

Paltrow’s advice to people with famous parents is to not limit themselves or their dreams because no one has enough power to negatively affect their decisions and actions. The words of advice seemed to resonate deeply with Bieber, who also has famous parents, as he admitted, “I needed to hear this today.”

Paltrow further discussed working with the media personality’s father when she was younger, describing him as “awesome.” In his words, “I made a movie with your dad. It was a small independent movie. I think I was 20, so it was a long time ago, but he was great.”
