The “Hack” star revealed that he recently underwent heart surgery. As Smart recovers from the procedure, he wants fans to know how he’s doing and appreciate his loved ones for standing by him through the tough times.

The 71-year-old entertainer marked American Heart Month with good news after a successful heart procedure from which he is now recovering. On Instagram, he wrote a heartfelt thank you to his supporters and medical professionals who have helped in his recovery.

“February is American Heart Month,” Smart began in the attached photo. “It’s a time when the nation is putting the spotlight on heart health, so it feels important to share with you all that I’m recovering from a recent successful heart procedure.”
He continued with words of appreciation for being “fortunate to have excellent professional care and support from family and friends” as he progressed with his recovery. In closing, the Tony nominee advised his many fans to “listen to your body and talk to your doctor” before expressing his delight at following his own advice and signing his name.
Although the post was captionless, the image was well-detailed, and many fans took to the comments to send prayers and encouragement for her amid her recovery journey. “Get well soon,” wrote one fan, “you national treasure, you.” A second commenter expressed relief to know Smart is healthy and sent “love and thanks for this push.”

According to Deadline, filming began shortly after Thanksgiving and continued once the January holidays ended. The Emmy winner played Las Vegas comedian Deborah Vance in the hit series produced by UTV and created by Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello, and Jen Stasky.
