“February is American Heart Month,” Smart began in the attached photo. “It’s a time when the nation is putting the spotlight on heart health, so it feels important to share with you all that I’m recovering from a recent successful heart procedure.”

He continued with words of appreciation for being “fortunate to have excellent professional care and support from family and friends” as he progressed with his recovery. In closing, the Tony nominee advised his many fans to “listen to your body and talk to your doctor” before expressing his delight at following his own advice and signing his name.
