GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley blasted the Republican National Committee on Sunday, accusing it of bias in the 2024 party primary contest.
Haley, asked on NBC’s “Meet the Press” if she thought the RNC had been an honest broker in helping choose the party’s next presidential nominee, replied, “I mean, obviously not.
“If you’re going to come in and basically tell the American people that you’re going to go and decide who the nominee is after only two states have voted? I mean, 48 states out there?” Haley said.
After former President Donald Trump’s dominance became clear in New Hampshire on election night, RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel told Fox News, “I look at the math and the path forward, and I don’t see it for Nikki Haley.
“We have to unite around our candidate, which is going to be Donald Trump,” McDaniel said.
Haley responded to NBC, “This is a democracy. The American people want a say in who their nominee is going to be, we need to give them that.”

Last week, a leak revealed that David Bossie, an RNC committeeman from Maryland, submitted a draft resolution to declare Trump the presumptive nominee.
The resolution will only be a declaration and carry no official weight, as Trump still needs to get 1,215 delegates to get party approval.
Bossie later withdrew the draft resolution — which is likely to be considered during the annual winter meeting of the 168-member panel this week — after Trump opposed it in a Truth Social post Thursday.
“I think the American people want to be able to make this decision for themselves,” Haley told NBC, claiming Trump helped push for a draft resolution by her ally, Bossie. “I don’t think this is the RNC’s place to do that.”

The RNC did not immediately respond to a request for comment. During the 2024 primary cycle, it hosted multiple debates between candidates that Trump skipped.
RNC officials like Bossie openly boast about overseeing a “fair” process, insisting that they do not interfere in the grassroots.
Trump won Iowa by 30-odd points and New Hampshire by more than 11 points. As a result, Trump has 32 delegates, and Haley has 17.
Haley will rely on her home state of South Carolina but trails the 45th president by double digits in multiple polls.
“What I think I need to do is I need to show that I am building momentum. I have to show that I’m stronger in South Carolina than New Hampshire,” Haley said.

He went on to reveal that he has “every intention” of staying in the race until Super Tuesday on March 5, when more than a dozen contests take place simultaneously.
“I’m not going anywhere,” Haley said.
During his TV interview, the former South Carolina governor and former US ambassador to the UN also took aim at Trump for his opposition to a proposed border deal negotiated in the Senate, dismissing rumors that his criticism stemmed from wanting to solve the crisis himself.
“The last thing he needs to do is tell them to wait to approve the border agreement until the election. We can’t wait another day,” Haley said.
The proposed deal, which has drawn opposition in the GOP-led House, has been backed by President Biden and would involve comprehensive border reform to secure Republican support for additional aid packages to Ukraine, Israel and more.
Biden has vowed that if approved, he would use his authority to close “the border when it becomes overwhelmed.”
