Critics slammed President Joe Biden for holding Hamas responsible for Saturday’s attack on Israel by giving billions to Iran, which funds and supports the terror group.
In September, the Biden administration authorized the transfer of $6 billion in frozen assets to Iran — which funds and supports Hamas — in exchange for the release of five Americans.
The White House insisted at the time that Iran could only use the funds for “food, medicine, medical equipment that would not have a dual military use” – but Iran rejected that condition and publicly boasted that it would use the cash “in wherever we need it.”
The GOP presidential candidate quickly slammed the Biden administration for playing a role in the unprecedented attacks.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said, “Iran has helped finance this war against Israel, and Joe Biden’s easy-going policy on Iran has helped fill their coffers. Israel is now paying the price for that policy. We will stand with the State of Israel, they have to defeat Hamas and we have to stand against Iran.”

“This attack by Hamas is shameful and Israel has the right to defend itself with extraordinary force. “Unfortunately, American taxpayer dollars helped fund this attack, which many reports say came from the Biden Administration,” former President Donald Trump said in a statement.
Former Vice President Mike Pence wrote on social media, “This is what happens when POTUS shows weakness on the world stage, kowtows to the mullahs in Iran with a $6 Billion ransom, and leaders in the Republican Party signal the withdrawal of America as Leader of the Free World. Weakness awakens crime.”

Former UN ambassador Nikki Haley, a staunch supporter of Israel, also condemned the attack and pointed to Hamas-Iranian ties.
“Make no mistake: Hamas is a bloodthirsty terrorist organization supported by Iran and determined to take as many innocent lives as possible. “The reports coming out of Israel are appalling with the staggering number of deaths and injuries and should be universally condemned,” Haley said in a statement.
