Hollywood Murders: Sam Haskell Jr. Appears In Court Shirtless Due To Suicidal Possibilities

Sam Haskell Jr, accused of murdering his wife and son-in-law, appeared in court for his latest trial shirtless.

As we reported, the son of powerful celebrity agent Sam Haskell Sr. was initially arrested after body parts allegedly belonging to a woman were found in a garbage bag a few miles from her Los Angeles home.

He has been charged with three counts of murder.

Sam Haskell Fights Suicidal Thoughts, Appears for Court Shirtless

Haskell Jr. appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom on Thursday for his hearing, shirtless and with a velcro ensemble tied around his waist. As expected he was handcuffed and holding a nylon rod containing what appeared to be snacks as he stood before the judge.

According to authorities, Haskell Jr.’s unusual appearance in court was due to his suicidal thoughts. An officer present at the trial claimed the alleged criminal initially wore a velcro vest with no material that could have suffocated or injured himself during the process.

However, the vest continued to fall, and was removed.

No further details were provided on the outcome of the hearing but Haskell Jr is due in court next month. Recall that the 35-year-old man was arrested last month on suspicion of murdering his wife, Mei Haskell, and her parents, Goashan Li, 72, and Yanxiang Wang, 64.

The case first came to light in early November when part of a woman’s body was found in a trash can in Tarzana, California, by a homeless man going through a trash can in the parking lot of a commercial building. Law enforcement had been searching for Mei and her parents for a while before the discovery.

“When officers responded, they found a woman in pieces wrapped in a plastic bag. It’s out of the trash. They confirmed that it was human remains,” said LAPD Detective Efren Gutierrez. He later stated that a torso was found in a trash bag.

After the body was found, LAPD officers continued to search the house that neighbors said a man, a woman, and their three children lived in, as if it belonged to Haskell and his family. Police cordon off part of Tarzana to collect evidence.

Haskell Jr Caught On Video Dragging Body Bag

Following the discovery of the body part, footage emerged showing the son of the Hollywood powerhouse. Security footage showed a man in a white shirt, identified as Haskell Jr., waving down a blue moving truck to stop in front of his home.

Haskell asked some men to remove the bag from his house. Two men believed to be laborers were seen dragging a large black garbage bag down the driveway. They then put the bag into the truck.

After loading two garbage bags, Haskell Jr. walked back into his house while the workers drove away in their trucks.

District Attorney Gascón spoke about the case, saying, “This shocking and horrific crime has sent shock waves through our community. We stand with the victims’ loved ones in this unimaginably difficult time and will do everything in our power to ensure justice is served.”

Haskell Jr’s father, Sam Haskell Sr., is a powerful celebrity agent who represents celebrities such as George Clooney, Martin Short, Dolly Parton, Kirstie Alley, Tony Danza, Whoopi Goldberg, Kathie Lee Gifford and Debbie Allen.

If convicted as charged, Haskell Jr. reportedly faces a maximum sentence of life without the possibility of parole.
