How to Set Yahoo as Home Page for Different Browsers?

If you are a regular user of Yahoo, have a Yahoo ID, use Yahoo search engine, it would be very convenient if you make it the home page of your browser. The home page is the first page you see each time you open a browser.

There are different browsers available that you can use. For each browser, there is a different procedure that must be followed to set Yahoo as your home page. It depends on your default browser how you can change the home page from Google to Yahoo. From the guide provided below, you can select the required method based on the browser you have.

To make Yahoo your home page in Google Chrome, follow the given steps:

Click on the Chrome ‘Menu’ button and then click on the ‘Settings’ option.

Scroll down and toggle the bar for the ‘Show Home Button’ option. This option can be found in the ‘Appearances’ section.

Next, under the ‘Show Home Button’ option, click ‘Enter custom web address’. Here you can set the address you want to open when you click the ‘Start’ button.

Now enter the Yahoo page that you want to set as your home page, such as www.yahoo.com, mail.yahoo.com, news.yahoo.com, shopping.yahoo.com.

Scroll down and select the ‘Open a specific page or set of pages’ option.

Next, click on the ‘Add a new page’ option that you see just below the ‘Open a specific page or set of pages’ option.

Enter the address you want to see when Chrome starts and click ‘Add’. You can add as many Yahoo Pages as you want and they will all open in a separate tab.

From then on, every time you use Google Chrome, it will make yahoo the home page automatically.

Open Internet Explorer, click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and click on ‘Internet Options’.

A new window will open where you will see the first option as ‘Home Page’ in the ‘General’ section.

In the space given, enter the Yahoo address that you want to open every time Internet Explorer opens. Press ‘OK’ and the next time you start Internet Explorer, it will open the yahoo home page with the address you entered.

Start Firefox, click the menu button and select ‘Options’.

A new tab will open, from the options given in the left column, click on ‘Start’.

You will see the option for ‘Home Page and New Windows’, in the drop down select ‘Custom URLs’.

Now, you will see a ‘Paste a URL’ text field, where you need to enter the required Yahoo address.

You can exit the browser and when you start Firefox next time, you will see the Yahoo address entered as the home page.

Open Microsoft Edge and click the menu button. From the provided options, scroll down and click on ‘Settings’.

Now for the ‘Open Microsoft Edge With’ header, select the ‘A specific page or pages’ option.

In the given space, enter the Yahoo address that you want to set as your home page.

Hit ‘Enter’ and Yahoo will be set as the home page. You can even add more addresses if you want by clicking ‘Add a new page’.

Launch the ‘Safari’ browser on your Apple device, click ‘Edit’ and select the ‘Preferences’ menu.
Click on the ‘Safari opens with’ option and that will bring up a drop down menu.
Select ‘Home Page’ from the options and enter the Yahoo address you want to set as your home page, such as www.yahoo.com.
Next, you need to add the Home button to the toolbar, since Safari doesn’t have one. This will allow you to quickly return to your Yahoo home page whenever you want.
