Although their chemistry was instant, it took Jackman six weeks to work up the courage to ask Furness out. “Deb and I are already good friends, and I realize, I really like my leading lady. This is what you don’t do. It’s unprofessional and embarrassing,” he said.
Jackman finally expressed his feelings for Furness after inviting her to his home for dinner, along with several other friends.
“He said, ‘I noticed you haven’t spoken to me in a week, what happened?’ I said, ‘I have a crush on you. I’ll get over it, I’m sorry.’ He goes, ‘Oh? Because I like you too.’ I never in a million years thought he’d reciprocate,” Jackman said.
