“The Incredible Hulk” star Lou Ferrigno’s wife, Carla Ferrigno, has officially filed for divorce. She accused Lou of trapping her in their marriage and being very abusive.
The surprise divorce filing comes days after the actor and fitness star sued their eldest daughter, Shanna, alleging he was “financially exploiting” her mother and defying her.
Lou has responded by saying his only concern is for Carla’s health and asking for privacy for his family.

In a shocking turn of events, Carla Ferrigno filed for divorce from her husband and “Incredible Hulk” star Lou Ferrigno shortly after the actor sued their daughter, Shanna, for alleged “elder abuse.”
As previously reported by Explosion, Lou claims their daughter took advantage of Carla’s “advanced dementia” to access her money. In response to his allegations, Carla herself has accused the actor of cutting her off from their joint account and physically blocking her from family and friends.
In a signed declaration, the 74-year-old former actor accused Lou of having an affair with a mistress named Lisa, which he constantly flaunted in his face.
According to the document, he wrote, “Although his infidelity may not have been abused, when I was upset with him about his presence, he physically intimidated me, by getting in my face and using his larger size—he would remind everyone that he was the Hulk— compared to my small stature, to frighten and control me into submission.”

Lou responded to the allegations by issuing a statement to Explosion through his lawyers, Laura Hoffman and Vatche Zetjian.
It read, “Lou Ferrigno’s priority remains the welfare of his wife. All restraining orders mentioned in the recent press have been suspended by mutual consent of the parties.”
In the statement, Lou asked for privacy for their families as they have “agreed to mediate” and hope to “reach a good resolution.”
Carla’s lawsuit included allegations that Lou often locked her in their home and restricted her movement to the bedroom and kitchen. He claimed that the actor refused to install an attraction on the ladder or pool fence for his protection.

In her recent filing, Carla confirmed that her doctor had diagnosed her with dementia, which Lou had previously revealed in court.
However, he claims the medical condition did not influence his decision to end their marriage. Her doctor and lawyer have backed up this statement and said that Carla has been open about her desire to divorce Lou for years.
They also confirmed that he had the mental capacity to make and understand the decision. Her lawyer wrote, “Lou decided to hatch what can only be described as a Machiavellian scheme to try to trap Carla in the marriage so he could hold all the assets Carla and Lou had accumulated over their 43-year marriage.”
Lou and Carla were married under California marriage law, which means all their joint assets will be divided equally. This includes the $2.9 million mansion they own together in Arroyo Grande, California. The mansion is reportedly a big issue for Lou and is the reason he is said to be trying to keep Carla from going through with the divorce.
A source close to the situation told The Blast, that Lou believes the entire divorce was set up by a lawyer associated with his daughter. He believes everything is a money grab, and Carla can’t make this legal decision.
Interestingly, the document includes sharing multiple messages between Lou and Shanna, which Carla included in her filing. The texts show Lou expressing her concern that a divorce will result in their beautiful mansion. One message read, “He can take my house,” and in another, he wrote, “He wants to take my beautiful house.”

As previously reported, Lou is suing Shanna and Carla’s sister, Pam Vog. The former fitness star claimed that the duo had tried to manipulate Carla and “financially exploit” her since her dementia diagnosis.
Court documents filed by Lou and obtained by Explosion showed the actor claiming that the two were trying to withdraw $500,000 with Carla. He wrote that they made the attempt knowing that Carla was “medically determined to be unable to manage her affairs.”
Lou states that when Shanna and Vog take Carla to the bank for a withdrawal, the bank officer calls her because of the large amount and suspicious transaction. She sought a restraining order against the two women, which Carla now claims was an attempt to separate her from her last family.
In her filing, Carla wrote, “Although for a long time Lou was willing to allow me to be cared for by our daughter and my younger sister, as well as hired caregivers, now that they are calling him out for his abuse, he is taking steps to limit my contact with them.”
