Ishitta Arun was born on Friday, 14 September 1979 (age 43 years; in 2022) in Bombay, Maharashtra, India (now Mumbai). His zodiac sign is Virgo. He attended school at Arya Vidya Mandir in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the College of St. Xavier in Mumbai. Television

Ishitta Arun started her career as a video jockey and TV host for B4U Music channel. In 1986, she appeared as Ishita Bajpayi in a television series titled Yatra, directed by Shyam Benegal. Later, he appeared in a morning TV series titled Asas Sains, directed by Gullan Kriplani.

Interior Design

Ishitta has designed a restaurant post called Mia Cucina in Bandra. He has lent his designs to several restaurants, residences and offices for celebrities including Terence Lewis. He has also designed Wah Wah Studio in Mumbai and has held several exhibitions under his brand ‘Kishmish.’

Music

When Ishitta was eight years old, she recorded two songs for a documentary based on the life of Allah Jilai Bai. He has also written lyrics for Dhruv Ghanekar, Atif Aslam, Maher Zaine, Mahindra, Tata Steel, and Britannia Industries. In September 2012, he became the creative producer of Wah Wah Music production house. Arun has written several songs for Bollywood films including Dhaakad (2022).

Other work

He has organized more than 100 live stage shows. In 2006, he co-hosted a duet singing competition titled Sa Re Ga Ma Pa – Ek Main Aur Ek Tu with Shaan. Ishitta is the founder of Ikigai & Co. Under his patronage, he organized a play titled Gaa Re Maa which was featured in 2018 as part of the 40th year celebrations of Mumbai’s Prithvi Theatre. Ishitta wrote the title song of the film Dhaakad (2022)

Facts/Trivia

  • When Ishitta was in school, the principal asked her to change her name from Ishitta Arun to Ishitta Bajpai because her mother, Ila Arun, was popular and the school wanted to keep their identities a secret.
  • Ishitta learned the choreography from Saroj Khan for the song Bijuria.
  • In an interview, Arun said that he has been writing for Ghanekar’s advertising campaigns for years. Furthermore, he added,

    It started because I had to step in for a writer who didn’t show up one day. Then it becomes a long-term thing. Everyone knows I act, but few people know I write.”

  • He said in an interview that the opening verses of the title song he wrote for the film Dhaakad (2022) were taken from a lullaby his grandmother used to sing when he was a child. Furthermore, he added,

    It has been passed down from one generation to another. I have been singing it to my children for nine years. But, since grandma is gone, most of us only remember a few lines. I have a job to build them.”

  • In an Instagram post, while talking about her father, Ishitta revealed that it was her father who introduced her to hip-hop songs and encouraged her to dance.
