A music festival performer who was partying in Israel when Hamas terrorists infiltrated and began killing partygoers managed to survive by hiding for seven hours under the bodies of those killed in the attack.
Lee Sasi was attending a heated all-night celebration that drew about 3,000 people, mostly young Israelis, when Hamas launched their surprise attack Saturday morning, sending festival-goers running for cover and sheltering in a garden as gunfire rang out for hours.
Sasi and about 35 others had taken refuge in a bomb shelter when they were discovered by Hamas fighters, who began firing into the fortress at random.
Sasi was one of 10 people who survived the gruesome attack by hiding under a corpse for hours, according to a message she sent to a friend shared with i24news reporter Natasha Raquel Kirtchuk Gutman on Instagram.
Horrific videos show people crammed into cramped spaces, some hiding under the bodies of those killed.
In the message, Sasi told his friend that between 30 and 35 people who were originally in the bomb shelter were still alive – but by the time he was rescued seven hours later, only 10 had made it out alive.

His friend asked if that was the number of people who were still alive after they were rescued and he replied, “Yes after 7 hours hiding under corpses in a bomb shelter.”
“I’m not kidding,” he added, posting a picture of what appeared to be several corpses stacked on top of each other.
Sasi then told his friend that a thousand rounds were fired into the bomb shelter as the group took cover.
“The Arabs attacked the party and started shooting and throwing grenades into the bomb shelter which had no door,” he wrote. “15 grenades and 1000 rounds fired.”
“For 7 hours straight,” he added.
According to the message, Sasi contacted his relatives in Israel who sent former IDF soldiers to rescue him and the others.
“We are very lucky. Everything is a miracle,” he said in the message.
An estimated 800 Israelis have been killed, over 2,000 wounded, and over 150 have been captured by Hamas, including foreigners.
Gaza health officials reported at least 300 Palestinians killed and 2,200 wounded since Saturday.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced “We are at war” and promised Hamas would pay an “unprecedented price.”
