Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations ripped the far-left “Squad” in Congress for their refusal to condemn Hamas.
“They are motivated by hatred of Israel and political interests here,” Gilad Erdan said Friday from his office at the Israeli consulate in New York City. “I think some of them suffer from ignorance about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.”
Erdan said he wasn’t talking about all progressive House Democrats, limiting his remarks to the most radical charter members: Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) and Alexandria -Ocasio Cortez (D-NY)
“Muslim countries that slaughter or commit genocide against their own people, hundreds of thousands of Muslims are being killed or killed and killed by their regimes. I have never seen these members of Congress campaign against them. I only see them campaigning against one of the United States’ closest allies,” continued Erdan.
AOC, Tlaib, Omar, and other progressives voted against the House resolution condemning Hamas – which passed the house last week.

A leaflet with an image of an Israeli hostage taken by Hamas placed outside his office was torn down.
Erdan said it was “appalling” that the majority of Muslim Americans find Hamas’ violence against Israel “justifiable.”

“I think every American should be afraid, should be afraid because people who can support genocide, beheading, babies and people who burn alive are people who may also behave violently here,” Erdan warned.
Erdan has served as an Israeli at the United Nations for more than three years, but he has little love for the institution.

Since the October 7 massacre, the UN has called for a ceasefire but has refused to condemn Hamas.
“Looking at the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the UN is a destroyer. The UN has [made] a great contribution to maintaining the conflict. The UN is responsible for the blood shed in our region,” he said.

Erdan, echoing his boss in Jerusalem, said no ceasefire was on the cards until Hamas was destroyed.
“Cease fire? The meaning of the ceasefire is to tie Israel’s hands from preventing this atrocity from happening again,” he said.
