He previously tried to avoid testifying after being subpoenaed by New York Attorney General Letitia James, the lead attorney in the case. However, he was forced out by the presiding judge, Arthur Engoron, despite claims from his lawyers that it was “outside the jurisdiction” of the New York court and that Ivanka would face irreparable harm if she testified.
