Jameela Jamil has had many people use the quick weight loss solution.
It all started last November when a controversial New York Post article highlighted how various social media trends and runway looks reinforce their view that certain bodies can be more fashionable than others. Although it has received some criticism, things finally calmed down until last week when the Tik Toker revealed how the diabetes drug – Ozempic – affected his weight.
Jameela Jamil Urges People To Use Ozempic As A Fast Weight Loss Solution
When the article was originally published, Jamil had used his front-facing camera to record a clip in which he reminded viewers, “We tried this in the 90s, and millions of people had eating disorders. I have had one for 20 years. We don’t do this anymore. We will not be back. Our body is not a trend.”
The actress then revealed her knowledge of celebrities trying to lose unhealthy weight in a short period of time by using weight loss injections, specifically Ozempic. As it turns out, the use of an injection meant for people with type II diabetes has made it almost inaccessible since it went viral as a weight loss trend on social media.

“The Good Place” star reiterated her message in a recent Instagram post that featured a black background with the words, “I’ve said what I said about the potential dangers of people using diabetes medication for weight loss alone. I fear for everyone in the next few years. Rich people buy this stuff without a prescription for more than 1000 dollars.”
The outspoken host continued, noting that “Real diabetics suffer from shortages” because “It’s become a mainstream craze in Hollywood.” He hopes things will “not end up the same way” they did during the opioid craze because “there is little or no discussion of side effects in any online advertising.”
“I’m very concerned but I can’t change any of your minds because fat phobia is choking our generation,” wrote Jamil conclusively. While the like count on the post is close to 40k at the time of writing, the comment section is empty. As the former BBC Radio 1 host explained in his caption, the reason is the futility of “this conversation again.” In the words of the 36-year-old:
“I see people really struggling because of this. It has been an uncontrollable wave that I thought it would happen and I hope that I worry for no reason, and that my doctor who has advised me about this is wrong, and that In 2 years no one says “F* *k he was right and he tried to warn us for 6 months.””
Another person who has seen ongoing conversation around Ozempic is Remi Bader, a well-known body positivity advocate on TikTok. The Blast reported that the conversation was a little more personal for the influencer as he had to use treatment following a doctor’s diagnosis that he was pre-diabetic, insulin resistant and still gaining weight.

Unfortunately, the drug quickly triggered some red flags that Badder couldn’t ignore, especially in the long run. For starters, Ozempic made him overeat, and although he lost weight, he “doubled back.”
The side effects do not agree with influencers, who believe that only people with diabetes should use the drug. Bader has stopped using Ozempic and wants others to stop too.
‘Good Place’ Star Surprised By Fake News Headlines
Jamil recently made headlines after he called out SFX Magazine for giving an interview with him a clickbait title. As reported by The Blast, the British beauty emphasized her interest in being a part of the “Star Wars” franchise when she shared:
“I’ve done DC, I’ve done the MCU, I’ve now joined Star Trek, so it felt right that I was at least allowed to cater to Star Wars. I’ve referred to it as my nerd EGOT [Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony] – that would be the ultimate dream come true and fulfill every 12-year-old fantasy I had. I’ll accept anything, but I think, villain.….”
However, the paper’s headline claimed the former English teacher was eager to “jump ship” after “She-Hulk” hit Disney+. The fakeness prompted Jamily to share a screenshot of the title and her actual words on Instagram, writing in part:
“Hope these people stretch before they attempt the mental gymnastics required to create such nonsense.”
The post has received 59k likes and hundreds of supportive comments from her fans and celebrity friends like Kechi Okwuchi and Sophia Bush.
