Jameela Jamil Slams Tabloid For Clickbait Headline About MCU Future

Jameela Jamil is not satisfied with the tabloids that misrepresented her words!

After her role in the existential NBC series, “The Good Place,” attracted public attention, the actress went on to star in other larger-scale Hollywood projects. One of those projects is her portrayal of the evil Titania in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) series, “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.” Since then, Jamil has set his sights on landing a role in the “Star Wars” franchise – a dream that a news outlet recently misinterpreted in their headline.

Jameela Jamil Calls Out Magazines After They Faked Her Interview

For anyone who’s followed Jamil’s career since he started hosting TV shows, it won’t be news that he’s a fan of pop culture. In fact, the actor has been very vocal about his interest in joining the “Star Wars” franchise. He doubled down on his need to appear in the project when he sat down with SFX Magazine for an interview. In the words of the 36-year-old:

“I’ve done DC, I’ve done the MCU, I’ve now joined Star Trek, so it felt right that I was at least allowed to cater to Star Wars. I’ve referred to it as my nerd EGOT [Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony] – that would be the ultimate dream come true and fulfill every 12-year-old fantasy I had. I’ll accept anything, but I think, villain.….”

Unfortunately, when the outlet aired the interview, it came with a headline that Jamil found offensive. The “Star Trek” voice actress shared the headline quote, claiming that she wanted to “jump ship” after “She-Hulk” played on Disney+ on her Instagram Story.

Prior to that, Jamil had posted the same screenshot on his Instagram feed with the caption, “WOWWWW Title vs quote. I said this during my Star Trek press tour in zero relation to the success of any previous project, just my love of a certain sci-fi world.”

According to him, the MCU series “has been a success,” and if anyone has to “lie like this to try to prove otherwise,” they’ve lost “the battle.” The “DC League of Super-Pets” star definitively wrote:

“Hope these people stretch before they attempt the mental gymnastics required to create such nonsense.”

Within hours, her comment section was filled with supportive statements from her fans and celebrity friends. Actress Sophia Bush exclaimed, “It’s crazy!!!” while singer Kechi Okwuchi stated, “Bruh. They find a way to keep doing biased digs (ironically) at She Hulk while taking your words out of context because they know most people don’t read past headlines. Awesome ??‍♀️.”[sic]

Actress Natalia Cordova-Buckley wrote, “M for media really stands for Manipulate Masses,” and one fan added, “Journalism is mostly dead, stuff like this is the equivalent of junk magazines in the checkout aisle of a grocery store.”

Another fan claimed that the outlet was “obviously so jealous and fired up by a strong, successful woman of color, that the only way they can ignore you is with this clickbait headline.”

A third called it “weird journalism,” and a fourth agreed that even though the article was terrible, Jamil and his fans should focus on making his “Star Wars” dreams come true.

“You better be in Star Wars and they better not try to hide you behind any heavy prosthetics or alien makeup. Just big bad gorgeous YOU,” a fifth fan encouraged the former BBC Radio 1 host.

‘The Good Place’ Stars Can’t Deal With “Baby Nepo” & Their Denial

The Blast reported last month that Jamil joined the controversial topic of “nepo babies” following his rebirth by a New York Magazine cover story highlighting today’s artists — in film and music — who achieved their acclaim through their parents’ fame, connections and wealth. The host of the game “The Misery Index” shared his opinion with his 3.7 followers writing:

“Since the back-and-forth on this is getting boring… yeah, the nickname must be a bit mouth-watering and deliberately patronizing. And that’s pretty bad because you have your own human trials and struggles.”

After encouraging the “nepo babies” to acknowledge their privilege in terms of hard work and talent and hard work. Jamil retorted, “That doesn’t make you untalented. It just makes you very lucky, and you just have to admit it and move on.”

Although she considers herself more privileged than disabled actors, the actress admits that she is “less privileged” than a nepo baby.
