Hollywood veteran Jane Fonda has reflected on her past decisions and regrets about the way she raised her children.

Fonda thought that when she had children, she didn’t have what it took to be a better mother to them, but after gaining knowledge through her organization, she now sees motherhood in a more informed light.

During the interview with CNN Chris Wallace, Fonda discussed her experience with parenting her children, revealing that she had some reservations about how she handled it at the time.

The “Barbarella” actress said on “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” that she doesn’t have many regrets but mainly regrets the way she raised her children because she didn’t know any better at the time.

“What I really fear is reaching the end of life with so many regrets when there is no time to do anything about it. And that’s one of the reasons I try, I try to finish everything before I get to the end,” he said. Insider.

“I’m not the kind of mother I hope to be to my children,” Fonda added. “I have a wonderful, wonderful, talented and smart child, and I don’t know how to do it,” added the actress.

Fonda, 85, explained that her work with her organization, the Georgia Campaign for Teen Pregnancy Prevention, has helped her gain more knowledge about parenting, allowing her to readjust and be more committed to her children.

“I know what’s supposed to happen now, I don’t know later,” Fonda said. “So I’m trying to show up now.”

Jane Fonda Feels ‘Very Lucky’ For Cancer Diagnosis

The Golden Globe award-winning actress was diagnosed with cancer in September, but she chose to look on the brighter side of the situation, revealing that she felt lucky for the diagnosis.

Fonda took to Instagram to share the news of her diagnosis with fans last September, making sure to show that it is treatable.

He captioned his photo, “So, dear friends, I have something personal that I want to share. I have been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and have started chemo. This is a very treatable cancer. 80% of people survive, so I feel very lucky.”

The actor revealed that he has been undergoing chemo for six months and intends not to allow anything to interfere with his activism. He called cancer a “teacher” and stated that he had paid attention to his studies, explaining that it taught him to pay attention to society.

She Struggled With An Eating Disorder

In a recent appearance at Call Her Dad podcast, the actress revealed she struggled with an eating disorder in her 20s and thought she wouldn’t make it past her 30s.

“In my 20s, I started being a movie actor,” Fonda revealed to host Alex Cooper, per Insider. “I had very bad bulimia. I live a secret life.”

He later revealed he was “very, very unhappy” at the time and thought he “wouldn’t live past 30.” Fonda also shared that her mother struggled with an eating disorder before taking her own life in 1950 when she was just 12 years old.

The “Coming Home” actress told how her struggle with an eating disorder prompted her to take action to stop it, but she had no luck with it. Fonda stated that it initially started “very innocently” but quickly turned into something else.

“What you don’t realize is that it becomes a terrible addiction that takes over your life,” she said, explaining that she was “sad” and “kept wanting to quit.”

The two-time Oscar-winning actor explained that the disorder changed his physical orientation and constantly left him feeling tired.

Fonda also noted that the disease affected her relationships in certain ways, saying, “Your day becomes organized around getting food and then eating it, which requires you to be alone and nobody knows what you’re doing.”

He revealed that as he got older, the disorder worsened and began to affect his physical makeup, making him think he was going to die.
