This year’s NBA Celebrity All-Star Game schedule was released earlier this week, and actress and singer Janelle Monáe was excited to hear she was on the roster and playing for former NBA star Dwyane Wade’s team.
Monáe took to Instagram to announce the exciting news with a video of her training with Sensei Bueno impressively in Big Red Boots by MSCHF.

In an Instagram post, Monáe showed off her basketball skills while practicing for the big event. “I’m officially a 2023 CELEBRITY ALL-STAR GAME player a dream come true,” he began his caption, which went on to thank his coaches and MSCHF Sneakers to boot. He also added a message for his team captain, “I’m at work!!”
Thousands of friends and fans left comments to leave their excitement for this great honor. The NBA reminds him, “Less than a week!!” and his team captain, Wade, added, “Let’s go!!!!”
Actress Yvette Nicole Brown wrote, “You look twelve. ? Get them!!!” and another follower added, “Let’s get this bucket! ?”
In the shared clip, the 37-year-old is rocking the viral Big Red Shoes by MSCHF while playing hoops on an outdoor basketball court, and many of his Instagram followers are focused on the cartoon-looking boots and his amazing ability to run, jump and shoot into it perfectly.

The Registration List And Information For The All-Star Celebrity Game Was Released Earlier This Week
The celebrities selected for this year’s Ruffles All-Star Celebrity Game, as well as the coaches for both teams, were announced a few days ago. The NBA shared the information on their Instagram page.
The team will be split between Team Dwyane, led by Wade, and Team Ryan, led by Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith. Wade, also a minority owner in the Jazz, will host this year’s All-Star Weekend.
Team Dwyane’s head coach is Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, along with his older brother Thanasis, who also plays for the Bucks, and Alex, who plays for the Bucks’ G-League team, the Wisconsin Herd. Also joining Antetokounmpo’s brother coaching team is Olympic Gold Medalist Lindsey Vonn.

For Team Ryan, Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman will coach, along with a surprise guest who has yet to be announced.
This year’s Celebrity All-Star Game will include something new. Each team captain will have the option to activate “Ruffles Crunch Time” to initiate a two-minute period where points are doubled. The “Unlock Legends” feature will return this year which gives teams the ability to add legendary NBA players to their mid-game rosters.
Throughout the game, captains and team members will compete in game activations to raise up to $100,000 to benefit the “5 For The Fight Cancer Research Internship” in partnership with Howard University, according to NBA.com.
This year’s NBA All-Star Weekend will take place in Salt Lake City, Utah, and begins on Friday, Feb. 17. The Ruffles All-Star Celebrity Game takes place Friday at 7pm ET and can be seen on ESPN.
