Monáe expressed the deep connection she has with Prince, saying, “This is someone I would really call up and talk about sounds or: ‘How should I say this? Are these words too many?’”
“I could never imagine a time where I wouldn’t be able to pick up the phone or send him an email, and he’d call me back and we’d talk about all the things I wasn’t sure about,” she added, per Many people.
“I can’t pretend to be vulnerable,” Monáe said. “In terms of how I’m going to be remembered, I have concerns about that, like the whole concept of what I’m going to be remembered for.”
