Despite the lure of the lucrative opportunity, Kelce admits to feeling apprehensive about life after football.
She expressed both excitement and anxiety about the possibilities ahead, stating: “It’s exciting to think about the possibilities, it’s exciting to be able to lose weight, feel happy, and not have to physically fight for my life every day.”
“It’s also scary. It is anxiety. At the end of the day, it’s an unknown,” he added, following Daily Mail.
“People ask if you’re nervous for a game but the only game I’m nervous about is the first time – you don’t know what’s ahead. Ironically it makes you play better, it makes your senses come alive. But that’s what happens when you start thinking about retirement.”
NFL stars reflect the uncertainty of finding fulfillment and success in post-football endeavors.
Acknowledging the opportunity, he said: “It’s exciting, the possibilities. We are all lucky, we can go to many different areas. But it’s also very heartbreaking, you don’t know what you’re going to like until you do. You don’t know what you’ll find fulfilling until you do it, you don’t know what you’ll be great at until you do it.”
He noted the emotional impact of saying goodbye to a beloved career, stating: “All those things are in the back of your head too. No matter how you handle it, no matter who you are, how prepared you are to enter the next level, everyone goes through level of depression.”
“The end of one of the things you love the most in your life is there, and you have to get over it,” he added.
