Jay Leno has filed for conservatorship against his wife of 44 years, Mavis, who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.
Reports say that due to her condition, the iconic comedian who is filed as Mavis may not be able to take care of herself and manage her estate.
It comes almost a year after Jay had a terrible motorcycle accident that left him with several broken bones.

According to reports, the former “Tonight Show” host decided to seek legal power on Friday over his wife’s affairs as reports say she has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
Progressive degenerative disease is a form of dementia that affects memory, thinking, and behavior. Jay’s decision to file for conservatorship will give him the legal authority to make financial and medical decisions on Mavis’ behalf.
The couple have been together for over four decades but are childless, as she once claimed it was her choice not to.
In a recent appearance on the “Kelly Clarkson” show, Jay encouraged people to “marry the person you want” and that he “married the perfect person.”
The Comedian Was In A Motorcycle Accident

The former host of the “Jay Leno” show spoke with a Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter, where he revealed that he was hospitalized early last year after being involved in a motorcycle accident that left him with broken bones..
Known as a motorcycle enthusiast, he reportedly rode his motorcycle on a scenic route before noticing the smell of leaking gas.
“It’s very funny you should say that,” he explained, per Page Sixafter being asked about his recovery from a car fire in November 2022 that left him badly burned.
“That was the first accident. OK?” he added. Then, just last week, I fell off my motorcycle. So I’ve broken my collarbone. I’ve broken two ribs. I’ve got two cracked kneecaps.”

According to the news outlet, Leno assured the interviewer that he was “OK” before going on to recount how the incident unfolded.
“So I pushed down the side street and cut through the parking lot, and unbeknownst to me, there was a guy with a wire tied in the parking lot but without a flag hanging from it,” he explained. “So, you know, I didn’t see it until it was too late. It just wrapped around me and, boom, knocked me off the bike.”
He added, “The bike just keeps going, and you know how it works.”

He expressed his desire to continue performing and working as long as he is physically able, expressing the strong bond he has forged with his audience over the years.
“Then you slow down. That’s when you retire—when you have a stroke,” he said.
