The TV host shared his personal story of not graduating from high school and contributing to learning disabilities on his YouTube vlog. He became emotional as he struggled to let the words escape his lips.

He claimed that it wasn’t all bad and that his career in education started well for him as a child but it got worse and a lack of confidence and support got to him. “In elementary school, I got amazing grades. In high school, I got good grades. High school it got really bad. The crazy thing people don’t know is that I didn’t graduate from high school.”

However, the 43-year-old admits that she has not let a learning disability keep her from her career and being able to support herself.

Mai became famous as a tv host in various programs, something she doubted would be her future because of her struggles. But the mother-of-one learned to accept her learning disability and overcome the perceived negative.

“There is no coincidence why I am the host of a talk show. My first job was criticizing people on How Do I Look? What I see is what you will hear. That has put me in a career where I host makeover shows, I’m on the red carpet talking to celebrities, a talk show called The Real,” she said.

Mai also states that now she can look back on her life and the struggle she hates herself makes more sense now. “Now that I know what ADHD is, I’m going back to the part of my childhood where I felt really embarrassed about things and I was like, ‘oh, I’m fine, this is what I have but I don’t do it. . know more.”

Recalling that moment made Mai tear up a little. She spoke through tears, “I was told you can’t, there’s no way you can pass,” the Emmy-winning producer recalled. It sounds like it’s not for lack of trying on his part. It is a known fact that having uncontrolled ADHD can cause one to spin and focus on all the wrong things if one is focusing at all.

Mai steps out of the dark side of the story and reflects on how she used her natural skills mixed with a bit of ADHD to move forward. “I’ve always described myself as someone who thinks with their mouth it just goes woosh,” he said of the words that left his lips before he could even contemplate them.

“It’s not like a process, when most people have a great filter and can…” he goes on to say that “when you know this about yourself, put yourself in a situation where your impulsiveness develops,” Mai does just that.
