Author and actress Jenny Mollen was inspired to tell her miscarriage story and credits Chrissy Teigen and Busy Philips for inspiring her to speak up and tell her story.
In a series of Instagram Stories slides, as well as in a post, Mollen, 43, opened up about two miscarriages during her relationship with her husband, actor Jason Biggs. On the first slide, a photo of a positive pregnancy test was captioned, “When @chrissyteigen posted about having a miscarriage and receiving abortion care, I had to stop and think. Jason and I have had two miscarriages during our relationship. The first was at the beginning of our relationship and the second was during the outbreak. Both times I needed a D&C [dilation and curettage] and receiving abortion care and both times I am very grateful to live in a country where that is possible.”

Mollen Was Inspired To Stay Silent And Tell Her Story
Her next Instagram Story slide explains how Teigen and Philips inspired her to speak out. “I don’t want this to happen. But thank God, I was in such capable hands when it happened. I stand with @chrissyteigen and all the other brave women who are helping to raise awareness of this critical issue. Thanks also to @busyphilips for educating me time and time again on why we can’t stand still. Abortion rights affect all of us.”
Teigen, 36, recently shared her miscarriage story. “Two years ago, when I was pregnant with Jack, John, and my third child, I had to make many difficult and heartbreaking decisions. It became very clear halfway through that she wasn’t going to survive, and I wasn’t going to survive without some medical intervention,” Teigen explained while speaking at Propper Daley’s “A Day of Unreasonable Conversation” summit. He continued by saying, “Let’s call it what it is: It’s an abortion. Abortion to save my life for a baby who had absolutely no chance. And to be honest, I never put it together until, actually, a few months ago.”

His third slide further explained the importance of understanding that abortion is a life-saving medical procedure and the stress that abortion places on women. “It is important to understand that when we say abortion is a medical procedure, which saves lives and is important – this is part of what we are talking about. Women in states with extreme Abortion bans CANNOT afford this care, often forced to travel hours in pain and grief to other states. It is inappropriate for politicians who do not understand how our bodies work to put laws in place to control them”

Mollen And Biggs Have Been Married 14 Years And Share Two Sons
Mollen and husband Biggs, 44, recently celebrated their 14-year wedding anniversary. They share sons Sid, 8, and Lazlo, 4. The two have discussed the possibility of having a third child with PEOPLE in 2020, but there’s one condition. “I mean, if [Jason] can take it, completely,” said Mollen. “Or if someone could give me a 2-year-old who looks like me.”
Biggs told PEOPLE months before the interview, “If you just handed me a baby girl right now, I’d say, ‘Great, I’ll keep her.’ I’d walk away from her and say, ‘This doesn’t belong to anybody, right? Okay, I can take it home? Perfect, done.'” She continued by explaining, “Jenny didn’t have a great pregnancy, so she wasn’t interested in [the] idea [of another pregnancy]. If you can hand us a baby girl, we’ll say, ‘Great!’”
