Jessie opened up to Entertainment Tonight at the time about leaving her music career briefly and diving into the world of food.

“Oh my gosh, I’ve been cooking for as long as I can remember,” the singer told the outlet. “I just came from a long line of Italian women who always cooked, that’s what we always did.”

She added, “My ancestors and my whole family, they were strawberry farmers in Louisiana and cooked and ate everything off the farm, so I feel like it was just instilled in me, to know how to cook.”
