Despite all the problems and media spotlight, the Country musician has taken full responsibility for his actions while admitting his weaknesses.

The Grammy-nominated singer took to social media on Thursday to share a heartfelt statement dedicated to the mother of her children. The news comes in light of recent events, as the registered nurse had filed for divorce weeks before the lawsuit surfaced.

“I want to publicly apologize to my wife Alexis for humiliating her with my affair. I am ashamed that my choice has embarrassed him. That’s something he doesn’t deserve at all.”
The 37-year-old also expressed regret for his children, “I also want to apologize to my children for being a bad example of a man and a father. I am working on becoming a better person that my children can be proud of. My goal is to be better than the generation before me.”

The “Make Me Want To” singer’s statement comes after allegations surfaced in a recently filed lawsuit that he forcibly took his former manager’s virginity, known as Jane Doe, during a work trip to Los Angeles in March 2021.
According to the document, Jane Doe woke up naked in her hotel room after a business dinner, suffering from vaginal bleeding and severe pain, with no memory of what happened. She further claimed that Allen insisted she take Plan B pills following the alleged incident to prevent pregnancy.
Recounting the traumatic event, she stated, “I was disconnected from my body, panicked. He held me in place. At that point, any physical desire is just out the door. I’m kind of paralyzed.”
She also included a list of additional disturbing examples where the man allegedly subjected her to sexual abuse. This incident reportedly involved repeated rape, groping, and even recording their sexual encounters without her consent.

In response to the allegations, the “Freedom Was a Highway” singer denied the allegations against him. He shared a statement with PEOPLE that read:
“It is very troubling and painful when someone I consider one of my close friends, colleagues and confidants would make false allegations against them.”
He revealed that his relationship with the accuser was consensual and revealed that the individual had tried to extort money from him after their affair.
