First time, Joe Manganiello’s Hollywood hunk’s charm is not enough to win the hearts of the audience!
Fans refused to accept the Pittsburgh native as Howie Mandel’s replacement on NBC’s iconic game show.
Joe Manganiello Was Not Received By Fans As He Picked Up The ‘Deal Or No Deal’ Baton
The “True Blood” star was recently announced as the next host of the revamped “Deal or No Deal” series. Instead of taking place in a studio, the new program will be filmed on an undisclosed island, an atmosphere Mandel can’t stand.
In true Mandel fashion, the Canadian sensation happily welcomed his protégé, hoping the audience was excited for the show. However, the feedback was far from overwhelming.

News of Mandel’s retirement as host of the game show came in an Instagram post. The video shows the 67-year-old holding the series’ iconic briefcase in an empty studio. Mandel said the new show will feature “bigger money” and “terrible challenges.” The TV show will also take place in an “undisclosed island location on a world far from civilization.”
Acting shocked by the announcement, Mandel declared he could not be a part of the shoot as a germaphobe. “I didn’t even shake hands! There will be like bugs and snakes – I can’t go. I can’t do it, I can’t host!” The comedian roared before stating the show needed a bolder emcee.
Listing the qualities of his replacement choices, the “Canada’s Got Talent” judge insisted the next host must be “someone who likes a challenge, someone who likes games, someone who’s good-looking like me.”
“Not your average Joe,” he teased as the lights flashed to reveal Manganiello in a similar all-black outfit. The Canadian sensation handed a briefcase containing various items, including plane tickets, gloves, and ointment, to his protégé, who accepted the torch.
As soon as Mandel left, the Hollywood man opened his briefcase and smiled at the camera, saying: “We’re going to have fun.” Despite his fun introduction as the host of the next “Deal or No Deal” game show, die-hard fans were disappointed by the replacement.

Expressing their disinterest in the new host, many called out Mandel’s name in the comments while slamming Manganiello for daring to believe he could replace their beloved idol. “Howie is Deal or No Deal, sorry, Joe won’t cut it,” said one devotee.
“You’ll never be Howie,” another cruel reply read, while a third expressed excitement for the show but said they wanted the comedian. “Yesssssssss, but I’m glad Howie is hosting,” the individual wailed.
“I wouldn’t even watch Deal or No Deal if Howie wasn’t the host,” one vowed, with another disgruntled fan saying: “Come on! Hopefully Howie will host again.” The outcry for Mandel did not end there as more social media users wrote their grief.
“Yessss!!! Sad Howie won’t be hosting. I really like Deal or No Deal!” One of the game show viewers wrote. “No one would watch if Howie wasn’t hosting,” claimed another. Someone echoed the same sentiment, stating the show “Should have been HOSTED by Howie, lol, not just produced. Won’t be as good.”
While many lamented Mandel’s replacement, others were surprised by his involvement with Manganiello, given his close relationship with the entertainer’s ex-wife, Sofia Vergara. “So Howie works with his colleague Sofia and now her ex-husband. Interesting,” said one Instagram user. “Is Sofia ok?” Another curious fan wondered.
Inside the Modified Deal Or No Deal Island Game Show
The beloved TV show makes a spectacular return with a new spin by bringing the stars of “Magic Mike” to take part in the adventure-filled “Deal or No Deal Island.” The revamped program follows the iconic 13-player game. However, the twist is that they will be placed on the mysterious banker’s private island.
There, competitors will fight for cash in a thrilling season-long competition. The new show will reportedly combine exciting challenges, interesting dilemmas, and the classic game of “Deal or No Deal” as contestants try to beat the bankers.
For Manganiello, the Pittsburgh native will guide the 13 players through the game, share interesting offers from bankers and help them make the best decisions. NBC Universal Entertainment executive Corie Henson said of the actor’s role:
“When we took the show out of the studio and transported the game to Banker’s island, Joe was the obvious choice. He loves all kinds of games, lives for adventure, and isn’t afraid to stare down a snake or two to help players win life-changing paydays and, hopefully, beat the Banker at his own game.”
