John Mayer Feels Gratitude For Memories Of Late Bob Saget In Posthumous Birthday Tribute

John Mayer kept Bob Saget’s memory alive as he celebrated Saget’s 67th birthday.

Sadly, the “Full House” star passed away on January 9, 2022, at the age of 65, while in his hotel room in Florida. The comedian’s death must have sent Mayer, who knew and loved him since they met in 2003, into a long period of grief.

May 17 marked the late actor’s birthday, and the “Last Train Home” singer celebrated the occasion in a special way.

He wrote, “I guess what I’m saying is… thank God for our ability to remember those who have left us. It is one of those divine qualities that rarely occurs as a human.”

The singer added, “We can reflect and review and keep the fire of someone’s impact on our lives burning bright. Alhamdulillah we don’t have to let go. Thank you God for our memories. Happy Birthday, Bob; I love you. ♥️.”

The post left some Mayer fans in tears, while others commented on the friends’ bond. Saget’s widow, Kelly Rizzo, commented, “John, I’ve never seen this picture! So beautiful! Bob (And we all) thank God for you too ❤️.” One fan quoted the title of one of Mayer’s songs, writing, “*you’re gonna live in me forever*.”

In January, the Grammy-winning singer honored the first anniversary of Saget’s death, admitting he misses his friend. Mayer wrote in his sad tribute, “One year ago today; we lost Bob Saget. I like that guy. I like to say, “I like that guy.” Shortly after he left us, I could not finish those three words without breaking down, but now I say them with all the simplicity and complexity that love itself requires.

He went on to reveal his feelings since the death of his close friend. He states, “Grief is a journey, and it’s a deep journey that the person you lost also goes through; they leave space around you and slowly climb the ladder to find space with you.”

Concluding an emotional tribute, the 45-year-old singer wrote about the loss of her friend. He stated, “I miss him all the time, but the memories? It’s a solid object, and today we’re going to take it out, hold it, change it and remember how much Bob Saget meant to us. I love that guy, and I always will.”

‘Neon’ Singer Dreams About Saget Months After His Death

Mayer always hugged his friend since his departure. Mayer revealed that she had a dream about him months after the comedian died. Even though the guitarist’s dream featured the younger Saget, the meeting still weighed heavily on him.

The “New Light” singer said, “Last night I had a dream, and I woke up crying because I saw Bob. Oh man, young Bob, and we were going to a restaurant that I knew, and he didn’t know, and I looked right at him , and I said, ‘You must know how much I love you.’ “

Mayer goes on to reveal that his friend ignored his honest confession in the dream. However, he repeated it and got a reluctant response from the comedian.

The ghost said, “‘Yes, I know, well,'” prompting the singer to reply, “‘No, I told you. You must know how much I love you.'” According to the chart-topping singer, the dream was very so intense that he woke up “crying like a baby.”

The “Neon” hitmaker revealed the rest of his conversation with the ghost of ‘young Bob.’ “I said out loud, ‘I love you, Bob, but I’ve got to go back to sleep,’ and I heard him say, ‘Go back to sleep, go back to sleep. You need to go back to sleep; you need to. You have something tomorrow.”

Mayer concludes his exposition by relating Saget’s dream to a real-life version. He said, “It was no different from the miracle when he was there. And I learned that. It is not a leap to go from here to there. Because there is nothing different about how we access our loved ones when they are there [points up] than when they were here [on Earth].”
