Jon Gosselin has come out in support of his son Collin. The former reality star says his ex-wife Kate Gosselin’s claims about Collin’s “violent” and “troubled” behavior are false. Jon’s statement was made after Kate claimed their son received psychiatric treatment for his behavior.
Kate also wrote that Collin was always violent towards their entire family, who rejected them. In a recent interview, Collin opened up about his admission for the first time and said it was a dark place.

Jon Gosselin has responded to ex-wife Kate Gosselin’s claims about their son Collin. He issued a statement to US Sun via her rep, which read, “Kate posting cruel false accusations about Collin seems to be just another way for her to justify her horrible and unforgivable past behavior towards him.”
Jon goes on to state that if Kate really loved Collin, she wouldn’t have attacked him “in public.” The rep also revealed to the publication that Collin had just passed a mental evaluation and an extensive background check by the US Marine Corps.
He said, “The government’s full diagnosis clearly reflects the truth. At this point, Collin is training to become a marine to serve his country and cannot respond to his mother’s callous lies.”

Jon’s statement in defense of Collin came after Kate revealed her son’s alleged violent behavior. He released a statement saying he was placed in a psychiatric facility because of his “unpredictable and violent behavior.”
Kate wrote that she had received “multiple psychiatric diagnoses over the years” and underwent several treatments that were ultimately “inadequate for her needs.” He said, “The decision to admit him was made by the emergency room doctor following one of his many attacks/outbursts – this one involving the use of his weapon.”
In her statement, Kate also revealed that Collin was violent and abusive towards Jon and their seven other children. The “Jon & Kate Plus 8” star wrote, “Collin’s distorted perception of reality is one of the many issues he’s been dealing with.” Kate ended her statement by saying Collin was a “troubled young man,” which is why she and the other kids stayed away.

During a recent appearance on the Vice show, “Dark Side of the 2000s,” Colin discussed his psychiatric hospitalization for the first time. He opened up about his time and experience at the facility, which many fans of his family have been curious about for years.
Collin talked about how his stay affected him mentally because he had “no support system.” The 19-year-old said, “It’s a very dark place. All I have is myself. I don’t have anyone else. You know, I don’t have a support system. It’s scary. I’m confused. I am lost.”
She stated that her mother put her in a behavioral facility because she let the cat out of the bag for “abusive” behavior at home. He claimed that his mother’s intention was to put him “somewhere where [he] will not be able to hide the secret.”

The drama between Jon, Kate, Collin and their other children was featured on an episode of Vice’s “Dark Side of the 2000s” titled “Jon & Kate Plus 8: Family Circus.” In the episode, Jon revealed that six of his eight children with Kate no longer speak to him.
On the show, Collin also revealed that he lost communication with his siblings when his mother placed him in the facility in 2016. He said, “I think my mother kind of drove a social barrier between us. He told them one way, and, obviously, I saw the story in a different way.
