Jon Stewart slams ‘objectively old’ Biden over inability to remember ‘very basic things’ in ‘Daily Show’ return

Jon Stewart returned to “The Daily Show” Monday night and wasted no time destroying both President Joe Biden and Donald Trump in a scathing monologue centered on their old age.

“What are we doing here, people?” Stewart is angry about the situation during the 2024 presidential election which is expected to be a rematch between Biden, 81, and Trump, 77.

Stewart – who hosts the talk show after a nine-year hiatus – ripped both candidates about their mental abilities and slammed those who underestimated Biden’s ability to run the country as an octogenarian.

The comedian began his 20-minute speech with “big news” over the weekend regarding the Special Counsel’s report on the president’s handling of classified documents.

“This guy can’t remember things during his deposition,” Stewart said of Biden. “Do you understand the meaning? He doesn’t have the ability to remember the very basic things that are being questioned.”

In a clever exchange, the talk show host then played a clip from Trump’s deposition where he couldn’t remember what year he married his ex-wife and if he claimed he had one of the best memories in the world.

“It turns out that the main cause of early dementia is starting to be revealed,” quips Stewart.

He also blasted Biden for mistakenly referring to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi as the president of Mexico during a press conference.

“Joe Biden held a big press conference to dispel the notion that he might have lost a step and politically the last three to four steps,” he said.

Stewart didn’t hold back on Trump’s age, adding that the Republican often says things at rallies that require a medical checkup.

“They are objectively old!” he said about the two 2024 competitors. “They are at an age where there are no more age-related milestones to achieve. They got their AARP card, they got social security, they got their movie discount…”

“We have two candidates who are chronologically out of character for anyone who has run for president in this country in the history of this country,” Stewart said. “They are the oldest people ever to run for president – just breaking the four-year record they set!”

The comedian said by calling out their aging bodies and minds, he wasn’t suggesting that the two White House contenders weren’t “passionate, productive or capable.”

“They’re both stretching the limits of being able to handle the toughest job in the world,” he said of Biden and Trump. “What’s crazy is thinking that we as voters must shut down concerns and criticism. It is the candidate’s job to allay concerns, not the voter’s [them].”

Stewart — who is typically left-leaning — spent much of his monologue questioning what Democrats’ evidence was that Biden was as sharp and shrewd as they claimed.

But he added that Biden is “not Donald Trump,” listing several scandals and allegations that have dogged the former president.

“But the importance of this election does not make Donald Trump’s opponent any less subject to scrutiny,” said Stewart.
