Jonathan Majors has responded to a lawsuit filed against him by his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
The British dancer earlier in the week filed a new lawsuit alleging battery, assault, and malicious prosecution, among other things, against him in New York federal court.
While the move surprised many, Majors has revealed that he “knew it was coming from the beginning.”

After meeting Jabbari on the set of the Marvel film, Majors and the British dancer dated for two years, however, their relationship came to an end in March 2023 following an incident of domestic violence.
Majors has since been found guilty of several charges filed by state prosecutors related to the incident and is awaiting sentencing. But earlier this week, Jabbari surprisingly filed a new set of charges against him.
In an interview with TMZMajors shared her thoughts on the lawsuit, saying she was “not surprised” that her ex made such a move.
“I knew it coming from the beginning, really,” Majors told the publication while leaving a workout facility in Los Angeles with fitness expert Jason Best.
When pressed for additional information, the actor told the outlet that he “can’t say much more about it,” adding that “the law” prevents him from doing so.

Jabbari’s allegations against Majors include claims of battery, assault, and malicious prosecution, among others.
As part of her filing, she claims that Majors subjected her to a “pervasive pattern of domestic abuse that began in 2021 and continued through 2023.”
He also claimed Majors had defamed and “publicly abused his reputation” after he was sued in court for a previous case.
“After her arrest, Majors immediately mounted a widespread media campaign smearing Grace, claiming that she was “absolutely innocent,” “a possible victim,” Jabbari’s suit read, per Hollywood Reporter.
It further reads that “[Majors] did not attack her at all” and that “this woman had an emotional crisis, for which she was taken to the hospital.”

After his trial, Majors gave several interviews expressing surprise at the jury’s guilty verdict.
In one of the interviews she had on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” Majors opened up about her assault trial and revealed that she was “shocked” by the jury’s verdict.
He said, “I shouldn’t be in the car. I shouldn’t have gotten out of the relationship. I shouldn’t be in that relationship. If I hadn’t been in the car, none of this would have happened.”
When an interviewer asked him if he was responsible for what happened but not the injury, Majors replied, “Can’t say that. There were no injuries.”
The “Creed III” actor shared how surprised he was by the verdict, hinting that the evidence was in his favor.
“I was really shocked and scared,” he said. “How is that possible? Based on the evidence, based on the prosecution’s evidence, not to mention our evidence.”

Majors’ interview raised eyebrows, with legal experts warning it could negatively affect his sentence.
Cary London, a lawyer unrelated to the case, shared his thoughts on the actor’s interview THR.
London said it was a “very unusual” move from a defendant awaiting sentencing. He noted that while Majors likely won’t serve prison time, the judge may be swayed to sentence him to prison time because of the interview.
He said, “Judges have a variety of tools that can be used in sentencing, including anger management, community service, other programming and prison time. If the defendant says anything to anger the judge, or insults the integrity of the judicial system, I can see the judge giving him a taste of jail.”
Recently, the actor was accused of abusing two ex-girlfriends

Jabbari’s suit comes in the wake of more allegations of abuse from two women who have been involved with Majors in the past.
Women named Emma Duncan and Maura Hooper opened up about their relationship with the former Marvel star in a report from New York Times. Duncan claims that she suffered physical and emotional abuse during her relationship with the actor from 2015 to 2019. Similarly, Hooper claims Majors caused her emotional abuse during their relationship from 2013 to 2015.
However, Majors’ lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, denied the allegations of physical abuse but admitted that the relationship was “toxic” and that Majors “said hurtful things.”
“This relationship is between young drama students, and it all starts with mutual intensity,” Chaudhry said People magazine.

Majors is scheduled to be sentenced on February 6 after a jury found him guilty of two of the charges stemming from a domestic violence incident with Jabbari. However, it was recently postponed to April 8 after the “Creed III” actor’s lawyers filed several post-conviction motions.
According to reports, the actor could face up to a year in prison when his sentencing date arrives. The possible prison sentence comes in addition to a series of career losses the actor faced before and after the guilty verdict.
The actor was dropped from his mysterious role as Kang the Conqueror in the MCU, which is expected to reprise in the MCU’s next phase projects, “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” and “Avengers: Secret Wars.”
He has also been removed from the Searchlight project, a biopic about Otis Redding, and two upcoming films, “48 Hours in Vegas” and “The Man in My Basement.”
