Peta Murgatroyd looked delighted as she showed off her growing baby bump.
The “DWTS” dancer and her husband, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, recently announced that they are expanding their family, prompting random photos and video updates of her baby bump. A few days later, the expectant mother of two was enjoying the euphoria of her pregnancy glow.
Murgatroyd Map Shows ‘Poppin’ Baby Bump
Taking to her Instagram story, the “Burn the Floor” star posted a five-second clip, wearing a cozy off-white nightgown in what appears to be a hotel room. Her freshly styled blonde hair and flawless makeup completed the look — the front of the bedroom mirror where Murgatroyd stood displayed hair and body products.
However, the highlight of the video is her big, round baby bump that sticks out from the button-up sweater she’s wearing. Murgatroyd panned the camera to show a full view of her stomach. Looking so dizzy, she turned to her side and lifted her shirt a little before the video ended. The 36-year-old captioned the post, “Poppin,” along with a Hamburger emoji that made the joke about his stomach stand out even more.
This loving post comes after her pregnancy announcement with her husband earlier this year. The couple, who have been married since 2017, share a son Shai and are finally trying to add another child to the family.
According to The Blast, Murgatroyd lost three pregnancies during that period for the new child and had previously sought fertility treatments to help them conceive, all unsuccessfully. Fortunately the female dancer ended up getting pregnant naturally.
The 36-year-old shared the newborn news with a carousel of her baby bump photos on Instagram, adding that she didn’t realize she was pregnant for weeks. In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, she recalled feeling the usual symptoms but decided not to take a pregnancy test for the time being.
After confirming that she was pregnant, she admitted she felt “skeptical” because of her previous miscarriage. Now that she’s pregnant, Murgatroyd says she’s excited to show off her baby bump but isn’t ready to reveal the child’s gender. Speaking to the publication, he said:
“I didn’t even know I was pregnant for so long that I really felt sick. I danced through Dancing with the Stars with him.”
Murgatroyd recalled not realizing that her strange sensations were caused by her pregnancy. She said, “I started feeling weird, started feeling a little sick and a little bloated, and I didn’t want to test for weeks.”

Murgatroyd recounted his surprise when he saw the positive results saying, “It came out so quickly, and I was surprised.” Despite the exciting news, the dancer, who is almost 18 weeks along, couldn’t help but quietly celebrate her victory as she miscarried her precious and feared whether she would carry the baby to term.
Peta Murgatroyd’s Husband, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Talks About Their IVF Journey
The knowledge of Murgatroyd knowing about the pregnancy and being cool about it is reminiscent of how Chmerkovskiy talked about their IVF journey. A previous report by The Blast detailed how they went about their journey to expand their family of three.
Chmerkovskiy emphasized that watching his wife go through the in-vitro fertilization process was complicated. Murgatroyd informed the public about the failed pregnancy attempt in August, but Chmerkovskiy revealed in October that they had no intention of stopping there.
However, the pro dancer said they will look for other options to expand their family. In an interview with E! News, she said, “We still want a family that’s bigger than ours. We’re still going to keep trying, and we’ll see what happens, regardless of the fact that we’re going to have a bigger family, whether it’s through adoption or whatever it is.”
The couple received a lot of support from fans going through similar issues but Chmerkovskiy admitted that he was wary of his wife’s decision to be open about their challenges but now sees that it was a wise decision. He said, “The more real we are with each other, the better the community around.”
