Marvel star Jonathan course trial has entered its second week with a new round of witnesses taking the stand after his ex-girlfriend and accuser Grace Jabbari testified for four consecutive days last week.
In today’s hearing, the motorist who allegedly carried out the attack branded Jabbari as the aggressor in an argument between the former couple. Other witnesses from today’s hearing included two of the three individuals Jabbari met on the street on the night of the incident.
The testimony was made after a scathing text message from September last year was read out in court. The messages appeared to backfire on Majors as they revealed the moment the actor pleaded with Jabbari to avoid going to the hospital after suffering an apparent head injury. Majors also threatened his ex to commit suicide over the same incident.
Amidst the ongoing trial, Jabbari has also had his share of eyebrow-raising moments, with the most shocking footage being footage of him leaving a nightclub after an alleged fight with Majors on March 25.
Driver Alleges Jonathan Majors Tried to ‘Get Rid’ of Grace Jabbari

According to a driver who witnessed the fight between Jabbari and Majors, the actor’s ex-girlfriend was the aggressor in the situation—identified as Naveed Sarwar, the driver testified Monday with an assistant Urdu interpreter.
Speaking in court, Sarwar said he was hired as the “Loki” actor’s personal driver. He was responsible for driving the couple to the Brooklyn Academy of Music and, subsequently, to a restaurant for dinner.
Sarwar noted that the former couple seemed “good” to each other earlier in the day until the evening when Jabbari saw a text message on Majors’ phone, which made him “angry” and eventually caused the couple to start arguing.
“I felt something was happening in the back seat,” Sarwar told the court, per Diversity. “When I got to Canal and Center Street, [Majors] want to get rid of [Jabbari] and he opened the door…I saw them fighting when the car stopped. He’s trying to get rid of it.”
Footage from that night was played in court, and it showed Majors’ fight with Jabbari, their exit from Sarwar’s vehicle, and when the 30-year-old dancer met three strangers on the street.
“He tried to throw it in the car,” Sarwar said. “I remember [Majors] pushed him back into the car to get rid of him.”
Grace Jabbari Hit Jonathan Majors During Their Fight, Driver Claims

Since Majors’ arrest, his attorney has maintained that Jabbari was the instigator and aggressor in their fight. They have also implied that there is racial bias in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, implying that the prosecution is against the “Antman and The Wasp: Quantumania” actor because he is a black man.
Now, during Sarwar’s testimony, he seems to support the claims of the actor’s lawyer by claiming that Jabbari hit Majors in his vehicle. At this point, the presiding judge, Judge Michael Gaffey, warned him only to tell what he saw happen that night.
“[Jabbari] was shouting [Majors] and they quarreled. I have feelings [Jabbari] has hit [Majors] earlier, the way he was fighting and the noise he made,” Sarwar told the court.
In June, Priya Chaudhry, one of Majors’ lawyers, filed a countersuit against her accuser, leading to a police investigation. Once the investigation began, Jabbari was reportedly very cooperative and even placed himself in police custody.
The DA’s office has since stated that it has “officially declined to prosecute the case against Grace Jabbari because it lacks prosecution merit.” However, Judge Gaffey’s first ruling means that the jury will still be informed of his arrest.
Grace Jabbari ‘Looks Upset,’ Says Her Finger Hurts

In addition to Majors’ driver, two of the three foreigners Jabbari encountered testified in court on Monday. The individuals, identified as Chloe Zoller and Max Manning, shared their memories of that night when they encountered a distraught Jabbari on the street.
Zoller told the court that Jabbari appeared “distraught” when he saw him outside but did not notice any injuries to Jabbari at the time. However, after entering the nightclub, Jabbari complained that he felt pain in his finger, to which Zoller responded by handing him ice from the drinks bucket to apply to his finger.
While being treated at Bellevue Hospital for a broken middle finger and a cut behind her ear, Jabbari stated that she had argued with her boyfriend and had ingested sleeping pills.
Dr. William K. Chiang, who treated Jabbari, revealed that he had sustained a non-displaced fracture of his right middle finger that may have been caused by direct trauma.
The two-centimeter-long cut behind his right ear was consistent with a blow or hit with a sharp object. Jabbari has also been treated psychiatrically and, according to Dr. Chiang, was cleared of “any suicidal thoughts or severe depression.”
Jonathan Majors & Grace Jabbari’s Text Exchange From The Last Hearing

The latest witness hearing comes after scathing text messages from the incident in September were read out in court on Friday last week.
In an old text exchange, Majors apparently pleaded with Jabbari not to go to the hospital to treat a head injury, claiming it would lead to a police investigation even though he was telling “lies.”
“I’m afraid you have no perspective on what could happen if you go to the hospital,” the actor told Jabbari in a text. “They’ll ask you questions, and since I don’t think you’re actually protecting us, it could lead to an investigation even if you’re lying, and they suspect something.”
To this, Jabbari replied, “I’ll tell my doctor I hit my head if I go. I’ll give him one more day, but I can’t sleep and I need some stronger painkillers. That’s it: why would I tell them what really happened when I clearly want to be with you?”
The actor then threatened to commit suicide, citing Jabbari’s insistence on going to the hospital. She also emphasized that she “had to kill” herself because Jabbari refused to hug her after the alleged incident.
The hearing is set to continue tomorrow. Majors has since pleaded not guilty to the three misdemeanor counts of assault and harassment he was charged with. He could face at least one year in prison if found guilty.
