“Frozen” actor Josh Gad claims that he is “embarrassed” and “threatened” by his response to Hamas’ attacks on Israel, which have resulted in the loss of thousands of lives.
On Monday, Josh shared his response to former CNN White House Chief Jessica Yellin on the crisis, adding his own comments. Shortly after, she took to Threads to say that she was “threatened” after expressing her views.

In an Instagram post published two days ago, Jessica Yellin admitted that her statement may be controversial.
“I know this can spark a battle in the comments and that’s not my goal. My purpose here is to share discussions that happen in text calls and chats. Many Jews who read the comments here and on social media today messaged me, saying they were scared. They ask why some people are so quick to dismiss the violence that Israelis are experiencing,” he wrote.
“I extend compassion to all those struggling with this war and invite those who are open – to learn more about how this conversation unfolds from a Jewish perspective,” he added.

Josh Gad reshared his Instagram post to his own Instagram page, adding, “Thank you @jessicayellin for putting into words what most of us are trying to say to a sea of apathy, hostility, and whatnot. I also think it is very important to remember that among the hundreds killed were young men and women protesting the Israeli Government because of its occupation and brutal laws.”
“Their voices have now been silenced, their blood has now been spilled. Which has always been the intention of Hamas. It doesn’t matter if someone sympathizes with the plight of the Palestinian people,” he continued. “This was never about peace. It is about eliminating a race and a religion that represents less than 1% of the world but always has to bear the hatred generation after generation that excuses our death because of propaganda like Hamas.”
“I never thought to say this, but I am grateful that my grandparents who survived the Holocaust and their families were captured and killed are not here to see what is happening now,” he said. “Not only because I don’t want them to relive the trauma of the last few days of men, women and children being slaughtered and surrounded like livestock with the dead being paraded and desecrated, but because of the silence that defeats so many Americans… whose hands are they fleeing with the hope that the cycle of hate will end. It hasn’t.”
“Instead, we now have a new color of anti-semitism in the form of cheering on terrorists as if this were a baseball game,” he concluded. “Meanwhile more Jews and Palestinians continue to die and Hamas loves silence and acts to silence those who speak out.”

Later that day, she took to Threads to say she had been “shamed” and “threatened” over her views. “There is something I have to say because it really makes me want to know where we are as a society. Yesterday, I and the world witnessed terrorist organizations killing 600 innocent people and taking children and families hostage,” he said.
“I sent a sad and shocked message. I, who have always criticized the Israeli Government and its pattern of occupation and their attacks on innocent Gazans were attacked, humiliated, unfollowed, and personally threatened. Instead of compassion & humanity, people treat this as if it is a FOOTBALL match with two teams when the points scored are human corpses,” he continued.

However, Josh managed to get support, especially from Benjamin Berkowitz, a former Board Member of the Jewish Film Institute. “Thank you, Josh! I can’t tell you how hard it is to express support for those affected by atrocities, only to be attacked for those sentiments,” Berkowitz commented on his Thread.
“We want peace, tranquility, and prosperity for all—that’s what all human beings deserve,” he added. “But for people to take this and make it an opportunity to make antisemitic attacks is disgusting.”
