Julia Fox Recalls Shoplifting Experience And Getting Banned From Bloomingdales

Julia Fox has come clean about her embarrassing past.

The actress and model opened up about being “banned forever” from the iconic American luxury department store after being caught shoplifting during her teenage years. Fortunately, that didn’t stop her from launching a celebratory campaign in the outfit nearly ten years after being caught in the act.

Julia Fox is still recovering from the trauma of her shoplifting past in the middle of a collaboration with Bloomingdale’s

Not long after she did the unexpected by walking the runway for Italian fashion brand Dsquared2, Fox talked about another “full circle” moment with Bloomingdale’s. Speaking about the incident, the “Uncut Gems” star, who briefly dated rapper Kanye West after his divorce from Kim Kardashian, told ET Canadaby Shreya Khanna:

“I’ve had so many full-circle moments like that. I actually got caught shoplifting at Bloomingdale’s, and I was 15 and I was banned forever from the store. And then like eight years later, I like a little holiday campaign for them.

Although the model and the brand planted the hatchet, she admits that she still feels nervous about entering the store. The 33-year-old said:

“And I remember when I came, when I came in in the morning, they asked for my ID and I was like, ‘Oh my God, are they going to like, look in the system and see that I’m like, bad?’ And they didn’t, they let me in.”

The Italian-American beauty later added that she “still kind of” lives with the trauma, holding her breath and looking “straight ahead” every time she walks with police officers. Reflecting on his tainted past, Fox shared:

“Like I suffered a lot of trauma from being arrested and so on. But, you know, it’s like you still carry those, like, scars from your past. Like, you know, I’m, I guess, a different girl now, but I still feel like the same little 13, 13 years old.

In addition to dealing with this trauma, the “Something You Said Last Night” actress surprised people when she agreed with Drew Barrymore’s comments about being eager to unpack her parents’ trauma when her mother and co-star, Jaid, died.

“I have been vulnerable and trying to figure out a complicated and painful relationship while acknowledging that it was difficult when the parents were alive. And, for those of us who have to think about it in real time, can’t wait, because they can’t wait for time, not that the parents are dead,” said the host of the talk show.

While Fox commented, “I can relate, lmao,” under the clip of the confession, fans quickly assumed he was referring to his mother, Ann Darwin, with whom he allegedly had a strained relationship.

The screen goddess of “Jatt & Juliet 2” completed with two bags – a gold rhinestone-themed bag and a small white bag – and a stylish hat made of the same fabric as her dress. As The Blast points out, Fox’s ensemble was a deliberate choice as it pays homage to Diesel and Tom of Finland’s capsule collection released in conjunction with this year’s Pride celebration.

She previously wore the dress to the Diesel x Tom of Finland Foundation event, held in New York City late last month. Not only did the event produce 17 new pieces, but it also saw the launch of the AllTogether Clubhouse on June 21.

According to Diesel’s website, the clubhouse is “a homecoming show that celebrates the history of Queer culture in New York, from nightlife and erotic art to uncompromising activism.”

As for the capsule, it is reported that it “reinforces the message of freedom of expression, sexuality and individualism – in this case, specifically celebrating the LGBTQIA + community – which has always been a key pillar for the brand.”
