Earlier this year, Julianne Hough was announced to return to the “Dancing With the Stars” ballroom and replace Tyra Banks as co-host of the reality competition show. Instead, Alfonso Ribeiro will return as co-host. It has also been confirmed that Hough’s brother, Derek Hough, will return to the judges’ table alongside Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.

Shortly after the news broke, the pro dancer and soon-to-be co-host talked about how excited she was to be back in the ballroom.
“It’s an honor to rejoin ‘Dancing with the Stars’ as a co-host,” Hough told Variety when the news broke. “The show has held a special place in my heart over the years and the different roles I have had the privilege of being a part of. My family has been an incredible team that livens up the ballroom every night for the past 17 years. I am so excited to be reunited with Alfonso, Carrie Ann, Bruno, Derek, incredibly talented professionals, and amazing actors on the dance floor.”
“The energy is magnetic every time you step into the ballroom, and I can’t wait to feel it again — and of course to share it all with the best and most loyal fans — for another exciting season,” he continued.
She later called it a “full circle” moment, saying, “Honestly, it’s full circle to be able to come back from being a dancer to a judge and now being a host with Alfonso. It’s great. Honestly, it’s just family again. I’m just excited. I can’t wait to see everybody’s back on the dance floor and getting our groove on.”
“Dancing with the Stars” will return to Disney+ in the fall.
