Michael Allio and Danielle Maltby called it quits after the two fell in love on the last season of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Now, “The Bachelor” alum Kaitlyn Bristowe is taking sides.

Michael Allio confirmed the breakup news earlier this week on the Trade Secrets podcast. “I think I’ll go out with him. We’re not together anymore,” Allio said on the Trade Secrets podcast. “Yes, it’s not what we planned. We’ve both done a lot in this relationship and it’s really horrible when it doesn’t work out. Again, like what we talked about before you make your plan, you see your future, you start working towards it.”
However, Danielle Maltby accused him of dumping her just a day after her egg retrieval surgery.
“What’s hard to talk about is really not the procedure itself, it’s what happens afterwards,” Maltby said. “The day after Michael and I came home from freezing my eggs, he … he broke up with me and I was very, very blindsided by it. Clearly [I’m] still very emotional and hurt and confused. I still don’t have any answers. I’m in,” adding that “having to come off hormones while in complete shock” was difficult to handle. “[I was in] complete physical shock. I am completely blind.”
Maltby also raised Allio’s son, James, who he shared with his late wife, Laura. “I am sad to lose him. I’m grieving the loss of a future I truly believed in and I’m grieving the loss of James. And I mourn the loss of the security I felt with him for the first time.”
Michael Allio himself addressed the allegations, saying, “Before this [Danielle] moving up I told him I wanted to be very clear about where I was and I told him I was out of place and couldn’t fathom a place in the future where I could have children. I am very focused on raising my child [James].”
She continued, “I said, ‘It’s a shame you have to move here and go through this relationship knowing you’re probably not going to have kids with me. And I felt really bad saying that because I knew he always wanted them. But I had to be honest about the where I am. … The idea of welcoming another child, for me, I can’t do it. It doesn’t fit into my lifestyle.”
She also claimed Maltby didn’t do the “whole egg-freezing thing, for me,” adding that she thought Maltby might have hoped that while they were dating, the eggs would “be used for the child we had together, but it didn’t happen that way.” .”

Kaitlyn Bristowe, who is currently going through a public split with ex-fiancé Jason Tartick, is now speaking out about the drama amid Allio and Maltby’s split — defending Maltby.
“So proud of her,” Bristowe wrote in the comments section of an Instagram post addressing the split. “It’s not ok how it’s handled.”
Bristowe has yet to talk about the breakup on her podcast.
