Prior to the confirmation of Lopez-Galvin’s death, Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graces provided information about the shooting, revealing that two armed suspects had been taken into custody.

He also highlighted his anger at what happened at the event, stating, “People who come to this festival should expect a safe environment.” Regarding the possibility of some filming scenes, Graces revealed:

“That is still an active matter. That’s a lot to talk about, as you know, the size of Union Station. I will tell you that we found the crime scene west of Union Station. As far as the front [the station]that is still under investigation.”
