Griffin’s video was released a week after four women came forward with allegations against Brand. This claim was published by The Sunday Times covers various incidents, including rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse, during the height of Brand’s career from 2006 to 2013.

An accuser detailed a rape incident at her Los Angeles home in 2012, involving Brand forcing her “against a wall”.

The woman said she sought help at a rape center the next day. Another victim recounted an “emotionally abusive and controlling” relationship with Brand when she was just 16 while he was in his 30s.

Ahead of the story, Brand had vehemently denied all “worrying” claims the day before the revelations were published.

He addressed the accusations in a video, stating, “I have received two alarming letters, or letters and emails, one from a mainstream media TV company, one from a newspaper, listing a litany of horrific and aggressive attacks. Amidst this litany of stunning, somewhat baroque attacks there are some weighty allegations that I dispute.”

The “Bedtime Stories” actress continued: “When I was in the movies, and as I wrote extensively in my book, I was very, very promiscuous. During that time, the relationships I had were always consensual.”

“[There are] witnesses whose evidence directly contradicts the narrative these two mainstream media are trying to construct, apparently, in what I see as a coordinated attack,” he concluded.

Following a massive investigation into Brand by Chanel 4 titled, “Russell Brand: In Plain Sight: Dispatches,” the comedian released a video on Instagram, thanking his supporters for “questioning” the information presented to them and asking for their support on the app Rumble’s video sharing after his YouTube channel was demonetized.
