“Roar” creator Katy Perry recently revealed that she had a three-month alcohol-free pact with her fiance Orlando Bloom and has now been sober for five weeks.

During her appearance at NYC’s select cocktail event Mister Paradise on Monday, Perry revealed People magazine he was “sober for five weeks.”

“I have made a deal with my partner [fiancé Orlando Bloom]and I want to stop,” he added, jokingly pretending to wipe away his tears.

When fellow “American Idol” judge Luke Bryan asked if she would break her deal and have a drink, Perry quickly declined the offer saying, “No, girl! I can’t cave. I made a promise. Three months.”

The “Never Really Over” singer and Bloom first met at a Golden Globes after-party in 2016 and reconnected over burgers later that night. However, a year later, in March 2017, the two announced that they were “taking a respectful and loving space at this time.”

The two reconciled and rekindled their romance later that year, but during their months-long separation, Perry admitted that she was close to killing herself. The couple made their red carpet debut in September 2018 and finally got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2019 in a special way.

Perry recalled the moment on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” saying, “It was so sweet. He continued, “It was Valentine’s Day … we went to dinner, and I thought we were going to go see art after dinner, but we stopped at the helicopter.

“It’s really sweet. He asked me to marry him in a helicopter,” added Perry, per Page Six.

While the pair seem to have the perfect relationship, Bloom recently shared a rare glimpse into the challenges they’ve had to overcome together.

In an interview with Flaunt Magazine, the “Lord of the Rings” alum shared, “We’re in two very different pools.”

He continued, “His pool is not a pool that I understand, and I think mine is not a pool that he necessarily understands. Sometimes things are very, very, very challenging.”

Bloom admitted that navigating a busy work schedule while being long distance for long periods was the most challenging part of their relationship.

“I will not lie. We must fight with our emotions and creativity, [but] I think we both realize how lucky we are to connect as uniquely as we do at that time, and there’s definitely never a dull moment,” she shared, per Page Six.
