Katy Perry will guest star in the preschool animated series “Peppa Pig” as a new character named Ms. Leopard. Although it is good news for the singer and his pocket, some people are angry with the decision.
Fans Disappointed With Katy Perry’s New Voice Acting Gig
As the series’ 20th anniversary approaches, Perry will reportedly join the “Peppa Pig” cast for a special episode. The episode, which is part of the “Peppa Pig Wedding Party Special”, will see the singer’s character helping with preparations for the first “Peppa Pig” wedding between Mr Bull and Mrs. Cow.
In a statement announcing the move, the animated television show’s parent company, Hasbro Entertainment President Olivier Dumont said in several parts:
“We are thrilled to have A-list talent joining the family fun adventure of Peppa Pig. As a loving parent and fan of Peppa herself, Katy Perry is perfect for voicing the character of Miss Leopard. Achieving the brand’s two decades of success and being able to work with an incredible talent like Katy is a testament to Peppa Pig’s success around the world and its ability to deliver unmissable entertainment for fans.”
While the news delighted her fans, several expressed their concerns about her via X, formerly known as Twitter. One person typed:
“Rough. He is a vile human being. He used his money to take advantage of vulnerable people to buy their property out from under them. He literally killed a nun in a courtroom. And we want to give him more money and access to our children. What an example. I am disappointed.”
“Will the episode be called Peppa Goes Colonizing?” second critic questionedas the third wondering “If Peppa Pig’s target audience knew who Katy Perry was.” The fourth netizen demanded that “Katy Perry voices a character in Peppa Pig NOT in my 2023 bingo card,” and the fifth insisted“My kids don’t watch anything with Katy Perry lmaoo.”
Sixth person explained:
“Peppa Pig is a UK production. Strikes in foreign countries do not apply here, and solidarity strikes are illegal. Complying with foreign union strike rules in foreign countries is inappropriate.”
The long expression refers to the announcement part of the X read“All casting and filming for Ms. Leopard was contracted and completed before SAG-AFTRA and the WGA struck and abided by SAG-AFTRA rules.”
‘Firework’ Singer Shuts Down Allegations of Elderly Abuse
MEGA
Perry recently made headlines amid a legal battle involving the purchase of a $15 million Santa Barbara home from an individual named Carl Westcott in 2020. In case you missed it, Perry and her fiance, Orlando Bloom, initially sought damages of $2.6 million.
However, the veteran’s family argued that the recent $225 million sale of his catalog meant that he should not seek monetary damages. The defendant, it turns out, is an 84-year-old veteran – a piece of information that brought a huge backlash to the “California Girls” artist, with many accusing him of intolerant of the elderly.
Following the intensity of the allegations, the 38-year-old was forced to speak through his legal representative to explain his perspective and potentially provide context to the ongoing legal dispute. The hitman’s lawyer, Jay Cooper, categorically denied claims that his client was intolerant of the elderly or those who served the country, stating:
“None of the allegations are true at all. Katy has never, under any circumstances, at any time, made negative remarks or disparaged the elderly, mentally ill, or veterans.
Elaborating on the allegations that reportedly arose from the Westcott family, the statement continued, “Katy herself has been involved in significant charitable efforts on behalf of many disadvantaged individuals in our community.”
