Keke Palmer & Darius Jackson Set For Court-Ordered Mediation

New filings have revealed that Palmer and Jackson have agreed to delay going to court on domestic violence charges against the latter and enter into mediation. According to documents filed under the actress’ legal name, Lauren Palmer, the ex-lover is scheduled to appear in court on December 5, 2023, at 8:30 am.

In order to get the stay approved, the mother-son’s legal team detailed in the request that both their client and the respondent “simultaneously file a Stipulation and Order to continue the Court’s Order to Participate in Mediation set for November 29, 2023, and the Petitioner’s Request for a Domestic Violence Restraining Order, currently set for December 5, 2023, to allow the parties time to attend mediation. The parties request that the Mediation and Petitioner DVRO continue on a mutually agreed upon date.”

A copy of Palmer’s temporary restraining order is also attached to the rescheduling request. The reason for that, as explained at the end of the filing, is to prove that he “delivered the document(s) above described as a REQUEST TO CONTINUE HEARING DV-115 (TEMPORARY RESTRAINING ORDER) on the interested party in this matter. by placing the enclosed true copy in a sealed, addressed envelope.”

Detailing Palmer’s restraining order against Jackson, The Blast noted that the perpetrator accused her ex of “beating her” and “throwing her on the couch.”

She claimed the father-of-one engaged in destructive behaviour, including damaging personal property, throwing things on the street, preventing her from driving by throwing car keys and hitting her in front of their son, Leodis.

“Spewing obscenities about me at our son, threatening to kill himself with a gun if I left him, harassment, and other physical and emotional abuse,” the suit continued.

In the order, which has been granted, the Screen Actors Guild Award nominee asked the court to mandate a 100-yard distance between her and Jackson, as well as their son. He also revealed disturbing details about a recent incident, which he considered to be the breaking point in their relationship. In his words:

“On Sunday, November 5, Darius broke into my house, physically assaulted me, pushed me on the couch and pinned me down, and stole my phone after I threatened to call the police. The police were called and arrived before Darius left. After interviewing me, my sister, and Darius, they told him to leave and warned him not to come back. They also encouraged me to file for a domestic violence restraining order.”

The altercation, captured on home surveillance video, shows the “Rags” star being thrown onto a couch. He also included screenshots from the recording in public court filings and linked their media-covered breakup to the birth of their son, claiming that she played a key role in his decision to end things.
