Nickelodeon veteran and current MTV “Deliciousness” host Kel Mitchell praised fellow actress Jennette McCurdy for opening up about her unpleasant experience on the network. The “Sam & Cat” actress released her memoir “I’m Glad My Mom Died,” in which she talks about her abuse at the hands of her mother and someone she describes as “The Creator.”
While promoting her new show, “Deliciousness,” Mitchell talked about her relationship with the former Nickelodeon actress and acknowledged the effort she put into getting her story out. He continues to encourage people to be more and pursue whatever they choose.

The 46-year-old currently co-hosts MTV’s “Deliciousness” and stars alongside Tiffani Thiessen, Tim Chantarangsu, and Angela Kinsey. The show is a spin-off from “Ridiculousness” and is set to release its third season.

While talking about her time with McCurdy on “Sam & Cat,” Mitchell talked about how the former actress handled her mother’s passing and how she appreciates her courage to talk about her experience. The 43-year-old man, “I remember what he went through when his mother died at that time. So [I love] listen to her tell her story and be brave about it.”

Further in his interview with Page Six, Mitchell revealed that one of his fondest memories of his long time at Nickelodeon was when he acted with McCurdy. The actor was a part of Nickelodeon as early as the 90s when the two shows that catapulted him to fame were released, “Kenan & Kel” and “All That.”
The 46-year-old said: “Jennette is amazing. I got to work with him on ‘Sam & Cat,’ which was great. Me and my wife [Asia Lee] got to hang out with Jennette too. She played my assistant in ‘Sam & Cat,’ and we had a blast. He interrupted. He is also a very talented actor and comedian.”

The actress finally left acting towards the end of 2010 after receiving therapy. Mitchell praised her for the move and advised people not to box themselves into one position and instead, “Do a lot of things. Go after a lot of different things.” The actor added, “I love seeing it: actors becoming authors, becoming pastors, all these different things.”

In her acclaimed memoir, “I’m Glad My Mom Died,” the “iCarly” actress describes her mother, Debra McCurdy, and her actions while she was alive. According to the 30-year-old man, Debra allegedly abused him and did not allow him to make any independent actions on his own.
The actor also claimed in the memoir that he was offered “hush money” by Nickelodeon. Explosion shared that the stated amount was $300,000, and that it was reported in an effort to prevent McCurdy from speaking about his experience at the network publicly.
The “Sam & Cat” star was also asked not to reveal the abuse she allegedly suffered from someone she calls “The Creator,” who she worked with at the network. McCurdy revealed that he did not accept the offer.

McCurdy’s reference to “The Creator” may refer to Schneider, the creator of several Nickelodeon shows over the past few decades and coincidentally the brains behind “iCarly” and “Sam & Cat.”
After Nickelodeon conducted an internal investigation, the network announced that Schneider was no longer under their employ. The investigation reportedly revealed that the “Game Shakers” creator was sometimes verbally abusive.

The statement went on to reveal that the series creator’s work is coming to an end, so their decision to part ways is understandable. The network thanked Schneider for his input in the company over the years and wished them success in their future endeavors.
