During his recent appearance on “TalkShopLive” with Nancy O’Dell, the “Behind These Hazel Eyes” artist revealed the reason behind the name of his upcoming LP. According to the mother of two, she chose “Kimia” as the title of her album because of her unique relationship with the former talent manager.

The 41-year-old cites Blackstock as his first special relationship, admitting he has never felt a gravitational pull with another person. “I never really connected before my ex-husband. And I never connected with anyone like that. I never felt it,” admitted the singer.

“That chemistry … that level of chemical reaction, I’ve never felt it, and I just remember the first time we met, I was like, ‘Wow.’ I just felt something,” added the entertainer before reflecting on the pros and cons of having chemistry.

The “Stronger” musician believes the magnetic force that draws two people together can end up being a beautiful moment or a wrong decision. In the words of the three-time Grammy recipient:

“And then it can be really bad, the chemistry. You can have incredible chemistry with someone you’re not supposed to be with, you know. Not one person is good or bad, whatever. It’s not a healthy environment.”

As if referencing his experience with Blackstock, Clarkson added: “I just think chemistry is a beautiful and amazing thing, but it’s powerful for good and bad. Make you do stupid things.”

The upcoming album, which is scheduled for release on June 23, marks the blonde beauty’s first LP since her divorce from the 46-year-old. Using feelings from the breakup as her reflection, the Hollywood Walk of Fame honoree admitted the creative process was emotionally challenging.

The Texas sensation admitted, “It’s a big decision, isn’t it? Ending a relationship that has been going on for years. You have children. It’s very involved,” explaining that he pours his heart out before thinking about what he’s doing.

“There’s a lot of layers to it. I don’t think I really thought about it at all. Until after,” continued the TV personality. “I just wrote a bunch of music two and a half to three years ago. And then the thought came when it was like, ‘What is appropriate and inappropriate?’”

Often, especially in the years following her divorce from Blackstock, whenever the “Since U have Been Gone” singer asks the question, her children give the same heartbreaking answer – they want reconciliation between their parents. In the words of a Texas icon:

“Sometimes they’ll say, especially the last two years, and it kills me, and I want them to be honest, so I never say, ‘Oh my god, don’t tell me that,’ but a lot of times it’ll be like, ‘You know, I’m just unlucky. I hope mom and dad are in the same house.’”
