Kelly Osbourne is no more than admitting her mistake and giving herself a scathing review reflecting on her famous Latino comments.
The famous daughter of entertainment icons Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne became an internet punching bag in 2015 after an appearance on “The View.” His attempts to criticize former President Donald Trump’s stance on immigration drew backlash from many who saw him as racist.
Kelly Osbourne Calls Herself ‘Self-Righteous C—’ Over Viral Latino Comment
The former “Fashion Police” host addressed her controversial remarks about Latinos in a new interview published Thursday. His famous moment, which continues to trend on social media to this day, caused Osbourne to see himself differently.
When asked who she saw in the video, the TV personality admitted she was too eager to share her opinion on a sensitive subject. He stated the delivery was problematic, saying:
“Oh, a selfish c— I hate it. I really hate it because I look at it, and I’m like, ‘You think you know everything, and you know nothing. Nobody wants to listen [your] opinion on this.’”
The backlash was a learning moment for Osbourne, who insists she has grown from the incident. Still, he insisted that his comments about Latinos came from a good place and not a racist perspective.
“I feel very strongly that Latin American culture is the backbone of America. I believe that Latin Americans are the hardest working people you will ever meet. And their relationship with their family and their culture is closer to me than the American way,” he explained in his interview with Rolling stoneadd:
“I never tried to be an American. I never want to be part of a country where there is so much hatred, and there is so much misinformation and kicking them when their mentality is weak.”
As for how fans recreated the viral moment with their somewhat controversial take on stereotypes, the mother-of-one was certainly more than happy with their creativity. He said: “It was the scariest moment of my life. But to see people get creative with it does make me smile. It turns something really ugly into something funny.”
As noted, Osbourne was heavily criticized in 2015 when he appeared as a guest host on “The View” to discuss Trump’s comments on immigration. Rebuking the former president’s stance, he declared:
“If you kick every Latino out of this country. Then who will clean your toilet, Donald Trump?
After his words sparked shocked reactions from the other hosts, he tried to correct his mistake, insisting that he “didn’t mean it that way.” However, many called him out for being racist, forcing the entertainer to address the backlash on social media.
In his statement, Osbourne acknowledged his “poor choice of words” but clarified: “I’m not going to apologize for being racist because I’m NOT. I’m wholeheartedly (fully) busy today. I don’t want to oppress anyone with a weak point. “
Kelly Osbourne Strongly Denies Plastic Surgery Rumors
MEGA
Last September, Kelly explained her relationship with plastic surgery. Although her mother, Sharon, was sedated, the entertainer claims she never received cosmetic procedures to achieve her sculpted face.
The purple-haired beauty was embroiled in plastic surgery rumors after undergoing a gastric sleeve procedure in 2018 to achieve her new figure. In addition to her weight loss, Kelly’s face has become more defined, a blessing fans suspect was achieved through cosmetic surgery.
“I have never undergone a procedure like plastic surgery. There are things I want to do when I grow up, but I’m really scared, aren’t I?” the 39-year-old declared in an interview with his mother, who added: “Oh, he’s a coward! Pity!”
Although she is not interested in plastic surgery, the TV personality admits to getting the popular cosmetic treatment. “I’ve had Botox, that’s all,” Kelly admits, adding that her features are a natural blessing. In his words:
“It’s strange because now that I’ve lost weight, everyone is criticizing and trying to figure out what I’ve done, and I’ve only just lost weight. It’s just the shape of my face!”
“And everyone knows that I had weight loss surgery, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made,” continued Kelly. “But there’s this whole thing about it, ‘well, you’re not doing it the right way.’ There is no right way.”
