Kelly Ripa Changed Her Social Media Strategy When Madonna Started Following Her
Ripa, 52, revealed on the podcast that once she found out Madonna was following her, she started posting more shirtless photos of her husband Mark Consuelos in hopes of getting attention from the iconic pop star.
“That happened to me when Madonna followed me and Isaac Boots told me. He was like, ‘Oh my God. Madonna followed you and I was like, ‘What? What? What?’ and I immediately changed everything I posted,” he explained to podcast host Danny Pellegrino. “I started posting just pictures of Mark shirtless because I was like, ‘Madonna doesn’t want to see my kids. She wants to see eye candy.'”
The change in his social media posting strategy automatically changed in his mind and he forgot for a moment that he had millions of other followers watching his posts. “It looks very dark,” he said. “My thought bubbles about Madonna following me and me feeding her are like, forget about other people. I played in front of an audience for a while.”

“I Just Adore Him”
Ripa discussed being a star when Madonna was a guest on “Live with Kelly and Ryan” and how exciting the experience was and always will be. “There’s no Madonna level, Madonna could come to my show every day for the next 25 years, I could live in the house with her and she’d always get that reaction from me because she’s just the greatest showman on earth. He always will be, end of story,” he explained. “I just love him, I think he’s so provocative and smart and intelligent, and a real revolutionary in terms of what he’s doing with music and the music industry.”
The host of the talk show then explained the time when Madonna attended one of Andy Cohen’s parties. “I was spewing Madonna trivia at Madonna to the point where, I believe Mark dragged me,” he explained.

Kelly Ripa Often Posts Mark Consuelos’ “Eye Candy” Snaps
While Ripa tried to post more “eye candy” to impress Madonna, she famously showed off her husband on social media. A photo shared on Instagram in August was captioned, “Adequate sun protection? ?☀️?,” qualifies as one of those eye candy or thirst trap pictures. The post received over 28,000 likes and many comments such as, “hotdad,” “The hat though!!!!?,” and “Thanks for sharing,” among many fire and heart emojis.

Ripa and Consuelos celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary earlier this year. The couple share three children, Michael, 25, Lola, 21, and Joaquin, 19.
