“You could tell I was crying, and he thought I was going to tell him I was pregnant. My mom thought the same thing when I called her. I was like, ‘What’s wrong with you guys?'” she told the Kentucky Lottery when their youngest child was six months old. then.

The Oak Grove resident said he rarely plays the lottery, but after hearing his co-workers talk about it, he decided to get himself six Powerball tickets.

“When it [jackpot] became big, my colleagues talked about it,” he said. “One of them said, ‘You have to buy a ticket.'”

His winning ticket matched all five white ball numbers — earning $1 million. Since he added Power Play, it has increased his earnings to $2 million.

The family plans to use the money to visit Jonathan Armstrong’s family in Pennsylvania in the fall, as well as buy a bigger house and a new car. Some of the money will also be donated to their church.
