Kevin Costner’s plan to serve his estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, divorce papers is reportedly not going as planned.

According to one of the outlet’s sources, the handbag designer “blindsided” the “Yellowstone” lead star when he handed her divorce papers. In the words of an insider:
“Kevin sat his family down, told them he and their mother were getting a divorce, and his lawyer was preparing the paperwork. He wants everything to be peaceful for the sake of his children and told Christine he doesn’t want a messy divorce because he’s already been through that.”
However, she didn’t get her wish because Cat Bag Couture’s creator “sneaked up on her and served her with his own set of divorce papers” the morning after their conversation. “Kevin was very shocked,” the source added before claiming that “Christine has made him look horrible and continues to do so.”
This claim appears to contradict what his longtime friend told the media about Costner being “shocked by Christine’s actions” last month. At the time, The Blast mentioned that a close friend of the “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” star stated:
“Kevin was very surprised by Christine’s actions, he clearly did not want the divorce, and he would take her back. It was disappointing; he loves her and her children.”

Last week, The Blast reported that new papers filed by Baumgartner showed that the 49-year-old was unhappy with the way his estranged lover told their children about the divorce. Turns out, Costner broke the news to the teenager during a ten-minute Zoom call while on set in Las Vegas, and he left the room.
The father-of-seven’s actions upset and disappointed the doting mother, who hoped she and the SAG Award recipient could share updates in person and together. She further asserted in the legal document that she had expressed her concern about their children learning about the separation from outsiders to the famous filmmaker.
Unfortunately, Costner dismissed Baumgartner’s concerns, allegedly asserting that “he has every right to tell them we’re getting divorced ‘early’ and to tell them in private” with or without his ex-partner’s presence and permission. Addressing the issue, Baumgartner wrote in the document:
