On Monday morning, September 11, news broke that Kevin Federline was thinking of going to court to try to get more child support from the “Oops!…I Did It Again” singer. The former couple were married from 2004 to 2007.

It’s been reported that the “Toxic” singer hasn’t physically seen his kids in nearly two years now, and since he has full custody of both kids, K-Fed is looking to get more child support while he still can.

Kevin now earns $40,000 a month for both Sean and Jayden, according to TMZ, which says the amount was calculated when Britney and Kevin both split custody of their two children 50/50. However, the boys seem to prefer spending more time with their father and haven’t spent much time with Britney over the years.

Britney Reportedly ‘Relieved’ To Stop Paying Child Support To Sean

Sean turns 18 on September 14th, so child support for him will end then. A source told the Daily Mail last week that Britney was actually “relieved” to have to stop paying child support for at least one of her children.

“Britney is relieved that Sean turns 18 on September 14 because she’s tired of paying Kevin the ridiculous amount of money he’s been getting,” a source claims. “Britney is happy to help Sean and Jayden. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his children. But this will go straight to them after they turn 18 and not Kevin.”

On August 1, 2023, Kevin Federline packed up his family and moved to Hawaii after his wife, former volleyball player Victoria Prince, was offered a job in the sports department at a university in the state. Some fans feel that Kevin may be trying to exploit the loophole to get more child support from the pop star, as child support can last until age 18 in Hawaii, as long as a child is enrolled in a recognized college, university, vocational . school, or trade school.

However, that does not seem to be the case. Sources told the Daily Mail that the initial child support rules were made in California and still follow California law. Like at the outlet:

“Under revised statute 576B-611 (2016) if child support is established in another state then the state where it is established has exclusive jurisdiction, stating orally: ‘In proceedings to modify a child support order, the law -specified state law has issued a preliminary control order governing the duration of the support obligation.’”

According to the information, Sean’s child support will end on September 14, 2023 and will end at that time. Britney will continue to pay child support for Jayden until he turns 18 on September 12, 2024, according to the Daily Mail. However, TMZ reports that Jayden’s child support will continue until he graduates from high school in 2025.

TMZ says that Kevin is seeking at least another $20,000 in child support for Jayden since Sean’s child support will end before the end of the month, arguing that he has full physical custody of Jayden. The outlet previously reported that the two boys refused to meet their mother in person before leaving for Hawaii and have not seen her in person for nearly two years now.

As previously reported by The Blast, the “Baby One More Time” singer agreed to pay Kevin Federline “over a thousand a month in child support” in 2018. In May of that year, he claimed that he made less than one percent of what Britney do. He claimed that Britney “earns more than $34,000,000 a year” in a 2018 court filing.

2018 was the first time the child support agreement was amended after it was first established in 2007, around the same time her financial assets were left under the control of her father, Jamie Spears. Conservation runs from February 2008 to November 2021.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline divorced in 2007 after almost three years of marriage. In 2013, K-Fed married Victoria Prince and continued to expand his family, welcoming two daughters: Jordan Kay and Peyton Marie. He is also father to daughter Kori Madison and son Kaleb Michael with ex-fiancée Shar Jackson.
