Kim Cattrall is BACK for some “Samantha Jones” action!
The actress confirmed the exciting news less than 24 hours after it broke.
On Thursday, May 31, reports began circulating that he will reprise his role as Jones in the second season of “And Just Like That.” It was reported by Position that Jones would make a brief “cliffhanger” appearance during the finale.

He shared Diversity article titled, “‘Sex and the City’ Shocker: Kim Cattrall To Return as Samantha Jones with ‘And Just Like That’ cameo.”

Per Diversity reported, Cattrall will only appear in one scene and it was filmed on March 22. He recorded his dialogue without seeing or speaking to his former co-stars, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis.

He also reportedly did not speak to ‘AJLT’ showrunner Michael Patrick King.
According to the outlet, Cattrall’s cameo scene will show Samantha, who in the show has moved to London, having a phone conversation with Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw.
In the first season of “And Just Like That,” Carrie chats with her estranged friend via text, and in the finale, the two make a plan to see each other to make up.
The news of this cameo has shocked and delighted “Sex And The City” fans.
Cattrall had a tumultuous relationship with his co-stars on the show, and their differing opinions led to Cattrall leaving the franchise for good.

He didn’t have the best relationship with Parker, King and the rest of his cast mates.
Last February, King explained that Cattrall was essentially blacklisted from ever returning to the franchise.
In a 2022 interview with various, King explained why fans won’t see Samantha on the show.
When asked if he would continue to open doors for Cattrall, he replied, “No. Just like it didn’t occur to him that Kim would join him And Like Thatbecause he said what he said.”
King went on to say that he was firm in his stance that fans should not expect to see Cattrall on the show.

He revealed that he had been saying ‘NO’ to a third film for over a year before SJP revealed his version of the story, which paints a grim picture of Cattrall.
“No one ever picks up the phone and tries to call you and says, ‘How are you?’ That would be the way to deal with it,” shared Cattrall, suggesting SJP wasn’t the only star to blame for the rift. “This is, it feels like, a toxic relationship.”
Cattrall also went on to say, “I think he is [Sarah Jessica] could be better. I don’t know what’s wrong with him.”
