On this week’s episode of the Hollywood Raw podcast with Dax Holt and Adam Glyn, the former CEO of Splash News opened up about his working relationship with the Kardashians. Holt opened the conversation, saying that he had known “for a long time” that Kim had a personal photographer — who would accompany her “on vacation.”
“I’ve known for a long time that Kim, Kim had like a personal photographer who would go on vacation with her, take pictures of them on the beach, Photoshop ’em, make them look really good, and then sell them through a paparazzi agency,” Holt said. “And it has been a great thing for everyone involved for so long. What was your involvement in getting, making sure that the deal was successful for everyone’s benefit?”

Morgan joked, “I used to be the one Kim Kardashian yelled at,” before going on to call the SKIMS founder “amazing” and “very helpful” in the “early days” of their working relationship. She then explained how the mother of four actually played an important role in preparing her own photos.
“You’re going to shoot, he’s going to set it up, you’ve got to shoot a certain way, you know, he doesn’t really know where his back is going at the time,” Morgan explained. Adding, “So he has to edit all the pictures that he has to airbrush do what he wants to do, send them back, and then we’ll sell them and really the next day.”

Morgan recalled that when he told Kim they were doing “really well,” Kim asked him to “send me a check for $20,000.” When Morgan asked her what she meant, she claims Kim replied, “Well, you sold it so I want the money.”
Of course, Morgan explained to Kim that the photo hadn’t been printed yet. Even if they were sold, they had to be printed, and then he had to be paid, which took a month to go through their system. Although the former CEO told Kim he would be paid in three months, he claims Kim replied, “No, I want it now.”

Gary said he told someone to go out and get the money because he didn’t want to lose a client as important as Kim Kardashian. Although he has said that he was “very helpful” in the early days, he added, “But, yeah, he’s a screamer” and noted that “there’s a big culture […] give me the money.”
When Holt asked Gary how much money he thought Kim had made from her own paparazzi photos over the years, Morgan pointed out that she probably didn’t make “a lot” of money because she split the money with agencies and photographers. However, she admits “she’ll make hundreds of thousands…easily,” especially when she makes deals with “bling companies” to wear their products on her shoots.

After pressing the subject, Morgan admitted “Well, yeah, I mean look, it should be, she might say, well when I say every picture, I mean if she’s wearing a bracelet from Chanel and they decide they might have to give her a hundred thousand for that, if she has 10 things in the picture, he might have to wear it 5, 6, 7 times and be shot. But he’ll make a hundred thousand out of the setup if you like.
After Holt called the figure “insane,” Morgan revealed that they “used to make hundreds of thousands” selling the photos to news outlets and magazines. “You could easily get a hundred thousand dollars for a beachy Kim Kardashian in the mid-nineties if you wanted to get on the cover of PEOPLE or US Magazine,” he revealed.

When Glyn asked if Morgan worked with Kim Kardashian or the entire Kardashian family, Morgan replied, “So from day one, it’s been Kim Kardashian that we’ve worked with directly and over time. […] all the Kardashians are basically up and running.
“There’s nobody better at manipulating this business than them,” Holt said. Continuing to say that the Kardashian family “is very…actually, like I said the empire, you know, that they’ve created from knowing how to stay relevant, using the paparazzi, using the media, using TV shows because nobody does it better than the Kardashians .”
