King Charles III was reportedly diagnosed with cancer shortly after he was hospitalized for an “enlarged prostate.”
According to a statement from Buckingham Palace, the king will take some time off from his royal duties to focus on his health and begin treatment immediately.

Shortly after he was released from the London Clinic following a diagnosis of an “enlarged prostate”, it was revealed that King Charles had cancer.
However, a statement from Buckingham Palace stated that the royal’s cancer diagnosis was not related to the “enlarged prostate” surgery nor was it prostate cancer. In fact, the cancer was discovered during a recent treatment at the London Clinic.
“During a recent procedure at The King’s hospital for a benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer,” a Buckingham Palace statement said.

It continued, “His Majesty has today started a regular treatment schedule, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to carry out government affairs and official paperwork as usual.”
The palace statement went on to say that “The King is grateful to his medical team for their quick intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure. He remains completely positive about his treatment and hopes to return to full civilian duties as soon as possible.”
“His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to avoid speculation and in the hope that it will help the understanding of people around the world who are affected by cancer,” he concluded.
It should be noted that the type of cancer has not yet been revealed.
