King Charles III Bestows Prestigious New Title On Princess Kate Middleton

In addition to her role as Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton has recently been given a new honorary title by her father-in-law, King Charles III. She was previously known as the Duchess of Cambridge; however, after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Middleton and Prince William inherited the titles of Prince and Princess of Wales.

The title was previously held by King Charles III and Queen Mother Camilla Parker-Bowles, but it was relinquished in September after she took the throne. Buckingham Palace also recently announced that King Charles’ birthday next year will be six weeks after his coronation in May.

King Charles III had given Middleton, his son-in-law, the title of honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards. The title was previously held by Prince William after Queen Elizabeth bestowed it on him just months before his wedding to Middleton in 2011.

The Princess of Wales’ new title comes as no surprise as she has been seen honoring the guard’s regime in the past decade on several St Day holidays. Patrick. During the parade, Middleton usually goes to greet the Irish Guards in green to match the holiday.

William, who previously held the title while Middleton, was also honored. King Charles III awarded him the Colonelcy of the Welsh Guards, in keeping with his title of Prince of Wales. Queen Camila was not far behind and acquired the Colonel of the Grenadier Guards. Prince Andrew previously held the role; however, he was stripped earlier this year.

In addition to the new title, Buckingham Palace also revealed that King Charles III’s birthday parade, known as Trooping the Color, will be held on June 17, 2023. That date is just six weeks after his coronation scheduled for May 6. the actual royal birthday is in November; however, the new date was decided due to better weather.

Trooping the Color will involve over 1,400 soldiers in addition to 200 horses and 400 musicians. Some royals will take part in the event by carriage from Buckingham Palace to the Horse Guards, while others will join on horseback.

This year, the royal family, excluding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, attended Middleton’s Princesses Together at a Christmas carol event. The event took place at Westminster Abbey in London on December 15, and Prince William and their two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, were also in attendance.

Middleton’s father-in-law, King Charles III, and Queen Camilla also joined the celebrations, as well as the princess’ parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, and other dignitaries.

Prince Andrew Stripped of His Military Pledge

Following his legal troubles, on January 13, Queen Elizabeth stripped Prince Andrew of royal patronage and military pledges, including the title of Colonel of the Grenadier Guards. A statement from Buckingham Palace read, “With the consent and consent of the Queen, the Duke of York’s combined military and Royal patronage has been returned to the Queen.”

“The Duke of York will continue to not carry out any public duties and defend this case as a private citizen,” he said. Prince Andrew is also reportedly banned from using “‘Your Highness’ in any official capacity.”

The royal decree came almost a day after Andrew’s motion to have the court dismiss the sexual abuse case against him was rejected. In August last year, Virginia Giuffre filed a lawsuit against Prince Andrew for sexually abusing her on three different occasions. The case was eventually settled out of court with the disgraced prince having to pay an undisclosed sum to Giuffre and his charity.
